RedState leader: 'I don't want my daughter in the room with Donald Trump'
CNN ^ | 8/8/15 | Thomas Lake

On Saturday morning at his annual RedState Gathering, one of the nation's most influential conservatives took the stage to deliver news that could change the course of the presidential race.

"If you haven't heard," the radio host and blogger Erick Erickson told his guests, "I disinvited Donald Trump."

Loud cheers filled the ballroom, along with several boos. Conservatives from around the Southeast had converged on the InterContinental Hotel for a two-day conference with scheduled appearances by 10 Republican presidential candidates. As it turned out, they would see only nine.

"Just so you have the context, let's roll the video," Erickson said.

Trump's face appeared on two massive video screens flanking the stage. He'd been asked on CNN about Thursday night's Republican presidential debate, when Fox News host Megyn Kelly pressed him about his history of offensive comments to women. By Trump's reckoning, the questions were evidence of an anti-Trump bias -- and perhaps something else.

"You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes," he told CNN's Don Lemon on Friday night. "Blood coming out of her wherever."

After playing the video, Erickson continued his explanation. He said Trump had crossed a line by implying that a female journalist's tough questions were attributable to her menstrual period.

"I don't want my daughter in the room with Donald Trump tonight, so he's not invited," Erickson said. "If our standard-bearer has to resort to that, then we need a new standard-bearer." (more at site)

Two Points:

1. The bulb lights! At Redstate today, Erickson said "Jeb Bush is the most conservative Republican governor."

2. From the article:

On Friday and Saturday, the voters heard speeches from Chris Christie, Rick Perry, Bobby Jindal, Carly Fiorina, Marco Rubio, Mike Huckabee, Jeb Bush and Scott Walker. But it was Cruz who stirred up the most excitement among a contingent of Republicans who feel betrayed by Republican leaders in Washington and alienated by recent changes in American culture.

"Wow!" Cruz said, taking the stage to a standing ovation of nearly 20 seconds. (More at site)

My question to Erick is what kind of a demented thinking system could take what Trump said and turn it into a menstrual comment?

The real question is how much did Fox news buy Erickson off for?

Erick Erickson does not yet realize how he has destroyed himself.

What a maroon.

We are running out of sharks for people to jump over.

The GOP-E is trying hard to tampax, err, tamp us back into line to vote for the pre-ordained loser to Hillary Clinton, Jeb Bush.

Ain’t happening.

Sorry, but the audience did not erupt with loud cheers. The applause was tepid and eventually drowned out by boos. JEB was also booed when he went after Trump.

But he wants his daughter in the room with Hillary and Huma? Or maybe their husbands Bubba and the Weiner. Or Joe Biden. Or maybe Rosie O’Donnell? am so confused. When did Donald Trump ever pose a threat to someone’s daughter? He has a couple of smart well educated daughters, a herd of granddaughters , has employed and worked with thousands of women with nary a charge of impropriety ..... Who fellated more interns? Donald Trump or the ex president husband of Hillary Clinton?

Someone get this guy Erickson a paper bag to breathe into.

And tell him to come down off that cross..... Someone needs the wood.

Erickson's becoming quite the self-important jerk. I guess he'll find out how far his influence extends. But he is really overplaying this nonsense from an incident that can be interpreted in a very unobjectionable way. He pretends that Megyn's piggish and insulting behavior was perfectly fine and acceptable.

Erickson is the darling of the leftards at sites like Can’t Think Progress today - that should indicate he really screwed this up.

Erick Erickson: 'I don't want my daughter in the room with Donald Trump'... But Bill Clinton, well, that'd be OK.

Since Trump said the same thing about Chris Wallace I’d have to say Erickson is either willfully blind or isn’t literate enough to entertain the possibility of this being a case of mixed metaphor, “murder in the eyes” and “out for blood” combined into sort of a metaphorical portmanteau.
