Cruz only had a parent, who was a citizen at the time of his birth. His father became a US citizen in 2005.
Not trying to beat a dead horse, and as a Cruz supporter,
I was taught in my Social Studies (late 70’s) from the text book (for which I am still hunting) in the Great State of Texas ... BOTH parents had to be citizens to be Natural Born with the founders and those here at the Revolution grand-fathered as citizens.
I am sure laws have changed and it seems to be a mute point now. I do not care where the _ resident was born and never have. His birthplace makes no difference. I think he is not natural born citizen because his alleged father was not a citizen.
It is the dual allegiance that created the problem for the founders as I was taught.
Since the people who were supposed to certify the current debacle have codified into law that I was taught wrong, Cruz is the best candidate for my ideology. He gets my vote.
The only way I will be satisfied without Cruz is if some journalist or legal scholar Tries to kick out Cruz and realizes that the poser they got elected was not eligible so this nightmare 7 years got miraculously reversed.
That is not going to happen so Cruz is my vote.
Cruz also had dual citizenship until 2014 when he renounced his Canadian citizenship. Supposedly, he didn’t know he had Canadian citizenship too. My question is when he received his passport, did he get any questions on his dual citizenship at that time? And has he been back in Canada as an adult.
These are questions Dems will be asking if he wins.
