Erick Erickson Disinvites Trump From Red State Gathering Over Megyn Kelly Insults
The Daily Caller ^ | Saturday, August 8, 2015 | Kerry Picket

Posted on 08/07/2015 10:46:29 PM PDT by kristinn

Red State’s Erick Erickson dis-invited GOP presidential candidate and businessman Donald Trump after he insulted Fox News anchor and Thursday night’s debate moderator Megyn Kelly during a CNN interview Friday night.

I have rescinded my invitation to Mr.Trump. While I have tried to give him great latitude, his remark about Megyn Kelly was a bridge too far — Erick Erickson (@EWErickson) August 8, 2015

“Well I just don’t respect her as a journalist. I have no respect for her. I think she’s highly overrated. But when I came out there what was I doing I’m not getting paid for this. I go out there. And you know they start saying lift up. And you know I didn’t know there would be 24 million people I figured but I knew it was going to be a big crowd because I get big crowds I get ratings they call me the ratings machine so I have you know she she gets out and she starts asking me all sorts of ridiculous questions,” Trump said to CNN’s Don Lemon.

He went further saying, “And you could see there was blood coming out of her eyes blood coming out of her — whatever. She was in my opinion — she was off-base. And by the way, not in my opinion, in the opinion of hundreds of thousands of people on Twitter because it has been a brutal day. In one way a great day for Fox. in another day in the Twitter sphere it’s been very bad because she’s been very badly criticized. She’s a lightweight. I couldn’t care less about her.”

A meager plurality in a field of 17, in August, bully for him and his traction, 4 years ago it was Perry in a similar position if I recall. As yes but Trump has a "movement" whereas Perry had only "movements" of another sort, yes? ;d

I think we’re paying too much attention to what the media and political elites are saying, TELLING us Trump is unpopular because THEY want him to be so, not because he truly is.

In that same vein he's not on a rocket train to victory because some conservatives want him to be and say he is because they are in love with his loose tongue. Reality is what it is, no matter what the media wants or what freepers want. I believe what my own eyes and ears tell me, regardless of either. Where it only up to freepers and people at Trump rallies I'd wager Sarah Palin would be running for reelection after having swept all 50 states in 2012.

"I could cast a vote for Trump in the general election."

And I WILL vote for any of the 17 including Trump if he is nominated to run against Hillary, I'd vote for a rabid squirrel if need be. But I wanna win GD it, and for the next President to be a good one and not other (r)unt like GW Bush. His entertaining persona and his success with real estate deals does not imbue me with your confidence that he could satisfy either condition. I could cast a vote for Trump in the general election.

I don't watch her show, and after her debate "performance", I'm strongly disinclined toward ever doing so. Only Erick Erickson implied Trump's fully justified criticisms of her during the debate were "sleazy." Accusing someone of having blood coming out of their eyes and nose as having a sexual/sexist component is utterly disingenuous. Erickson revealed his agenda as an agent and disciple of the corrupt Bush/GOP-E machine, so did Kelly.

BTW, as someone who has "sold" her own sexuality to advance herself (we've seen the pics posted here), her vicious and below-the-belt "sexist" gotcha points against Trump truly ring hollow and hypocritical. If she had that attitude and a mug like Helen Thomas, she wouldn't be on Fox News. We know what got her the job.

Last poll I saw had him leading 2-to-1 over the second place candidate (El Jebbe ?), so no meager plurality in a large field (half of whom are desultory, such as Linda, Gilmore & even La Raza Rick). Trump is no Perry.

Our feel for his candidacy is completely different here. He’s far more appealing to me on a personal level, I’m just so sick of the losers and mealy-mouthed cowards infesting the GOP. I want someone to stand up and unapologetically knock the teeth down the throats of the opposition. We’re losing this country, damn it !

If the GOP puts up another loser/ringer/coward AGAIN against Hillary (presuming she’s even the nominee — the Dem base hates her almost as much as we hate El Jebbe), I’m walking once again and voting 3rd party Conservative (be it Trump, FR’s own Mr. Hoeffling, or even ex-Rep. Hostettler). I have no interest in preserving a party so far in bed with the Democrats that you can no longer tell where they fuse together. It’s like watching a combo of Illinois and Massachusetts on a national scale, collapsing under the weight of their statism, corruption and collusion. Let them “Whig” out.

RE:”I don't watch her show..”

Well I would have posted this clip on my youtube channel and here at FR if someone had not got to do it both before me.
Watch her kick Patricia Ireland's butt over persecuting the Little Sisters of the poor over birth control mandates.

Little Sisters Of the Poor is on NOW ‘Dirty 100′ List

Likewise she kicked libs butt on destroying the pizza store over gay marriage and her segments on PP selling babies organs.

I never miss her show.

Meaningless national poll (Iowa matters, and NH and SC) from CBS:

“Trump 24, Bush 13”

24 is meager to me. His vote share. It could be 30 to 10, I still don’t care, it would still be 30, as in less than a third. To suggest this makes him nigh unstoppable, and again it’s August, is fairly silly.

“Our feel for his candidacy is completely different here.”

That’s for sure. ;-D. We’ll see my friend, for now we must agree to disagree, unless you don’t agree to that, in which we’ll disagree to disagree.

RE:”Well, you’re obviously a fan. She got a big “F” from me for that debacle on Thursday night.”

Did you watch the vid link I posted??

I really hope that you don't say no.

Kelly was way harder on Patricia Ireland in it than she was Trump. She made her want to crawl under the table.

If Trump cant handle a few tough questions from Kelly he will get slaughtered in a general race against Hillary in MSM debates.

I could careless about your school boy crush for the sleezy tramp. She is a narcissistic witch, who made a live public debate all about her. This was not an one on one interview asking tough questions. It was rude, crude, and socially unacceptable to the other 9 invited participants.

Yep . you are a perfect example how the liberal Trumpistas want Hillary to win.

When she does, it will be over.

You have reading comprehension issues. Carefully, read what I said. It was not a defense of Trump. I said Kelly was rude, crude, and socially unacceptable to the 9 other invited participants.

The foxes advertised a debate. They invited 10 of the top polling candidates to participate. But their intend was to destroy Trump. Since when are candidates required to debate the moderators? There was no purpose for this tawdry tramp to make this debate about her. She yapped more than the invited participants did.. Wallace was no better, he could not hide his disdain for some of these participants. It was not a debate. It was a jerryspringer Ho down.

I agree, when you say "whatever" of "wherever" it's a dismissive and not specific.

That said, the RINO media running with this, using it as their excuse. Really early but THIS could be the 2016 race right here. If I've been right about what drives Trump's campaign---namely his celebrity status as an "anyone but the establishment" candidate---he will be fine, maybe gain. The hatred for Kelly is thicker than pumpernickel pound cake.

>>PIP has become an acceptable and common practice to get rid of the "black horse" employee that is typically high-skilled and highly productive, thus at odds with a team of mostly mediocre members (including the manager) and hard to terminate based on pure work performance.

Uhuh.

What the "progrethive" GeeOpie ilk are looking for is a PC lap poodle who'll worship the emperor's new "Pink on Thursday" underoos and do as he's told.

The last thing they want is somebody who can tell the difference between actual performant work-product and the mounded facades of "architectural" buzzwords and bullshyte they're trying to stand upon on their way to bureaucratic L.I.F.E.R. Utopiaville.

Trump is no lap poodle - and the bureaucratic purple deadwood know their days are numbered if he becomes POTUS: "YOU'RE FIRED!".

No, DJ is seeing what I've seen---Impy, you are going to have to get used to the fact that we are in a new era, a celebrity era. It was one (not the only) reason Obama won in 08. He utterly crushed McCain in social media, sometimes 100:1. To this generation raised on Kardashians and reality shows the kinds of "gaffes" or "unacceptable comments" Trump makes are normal fare. Call someone a slut? So what? They've been raised on rappers shouting "ni...z" and "hos." The Kardashians scream at each other and. make up. Trump just took one insult from Kelly and turned it into three days of free publicity. And they are STILL talking about Trump.. Do you think ANY candidate on either side, including Hillary, would spontaneously generate this?

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Io6B3AfG2HA

Trump may be this century's Willim Henry Harrison, who was the first to run a truly modern campaign with slogans and advertising, appealing to the "common man."

To paraphrase Yoda, "the anger is high in this nation." We are way beyond a Cruz being able to come in and fix anything with traditional political approaches. EVEN if he wins a close election, the inside the beltway sabotage units would make him ineffective. Only someone who can go around this structure will have a chance.

Amen, amen, amen!!!

Cruz is the only candidate besides Trump that I’ll consider for POTUS at this point. Ben Carson or Carly-tastic for VP.

Walker’s another establishment hack. Plus he’s a beta.

And Megggggggyn Kelly, her Botox and hair extensions can FOAD. I know she has a little cheerleading cult on here, but how that pickled bread can be looked as anything but pickled bread after the debate shows a complete lack of understanding.

FNC is about as “fair & balanced” as MSNBC.

Not according to social media. 16,000 (!!!) unfriends in one day? This reminds me of the Glenn Beck thing when he attacked Zer’s kids. He sent from 3.5 million to about 1 million in no time. This won’t be quite that bad for Fox, but it will be, pardon the pun, bloody.

“...the Alynsky Method at demonizing a candidate is in full play here...”

Spot on.

If she wants to butt horns, then she should be able to receive some butting in return.

Just because she mentioned “the war on women” doesn’t give her a pass and just because she’s a woman doesn’t mean that any men who stands firm against her loaded questions is a misogynist.

IMHO

We won’t have 50 primaries during the next week, so the “as the race stands” standard is inapposite. Donald Trump is a liberal and a buffoon, and he eventually will lose his conservative support without being able to add liberal support, so his odds of winning the nomination are close to zero. And I agree with Impy that, among the non-asterisks in the race, only Trump has a lower chance than Rand Paul of winning the general election.

We have an embarrassment of riches in our primary field, and for any conservative to forgo supporting Walker, Cruz, Jindal, or even one of the imperfect conservatives, in order to support a humbug like Trump is every liberal Democrats’ wet dream. Not even Bill Clinton, when he was urging Trump to enter the race, thought that Trump could fool so many conservatives. We should know better than to fall for this.
