No television since March of 1995.
I’m a pioneer.

How many kids away at college sign up for cable? I'll bet it's close to zero. Those kids go with Internet streaming. And they’re not going to switch to cable once they enter the workforce.

My advise: Get out while they'll still give you your DVR deposit back.

I remember when cable TV first came out and they were signing people up. It was ten bucks a month and NO commercials. That was the big selling point, watch TV with no commercials. Then they got greedy.

I do remember. Now they're walking dead. 10 years from now, maybe less, kids will ask "Daddy, what's cable tv?" 30 years from now, daddys won't know. If there are daddys.

I stream a lot of content to my Kindle Fire HD 7. It’s a fun little toy. I use it every day for checking Drudge,Facebook, You Tube, IMDB, and if I miss an episode of some PBS show, I pay $1.99 to stream it. Or I can wait approx. 6 months to a year for it to pop up in Amazon Prime for which I pay $99 a year.

Wow!

People cutting their cable subscription for television?

And, they’re moving towards watching TV programming via the internet?

OMG!

Oh, wait......

There must be something I’m missing, because...

Aren’t the internet service providers the same as those that provide the cable TV services?

So, if the cable Tv and internet service providers are one and the same...

What are they losing, other than the TV customers who drop their cable TV service?

So, it could turn out that, an internet service provider, could raise their fees to make up for the lost revenue from those cable cutters...

And then, the cable cutters will be right back where they started from, paying more, and perhaps getting less; getting less because, each service on the internet can cost more than if they arrived via cable TV service.

It could be that, people who paid $50 for cable TV and $50 for internet service, could end up paying the same if their internet service fee is raised to $100. What then?

I stream a lot of content to my Kindle Fire HD 7.

I have that. Best thing since sliced bread. Makes the old concept of "a tv in every room" sound ridiculous.

Cable tv will soon look the same way.

Difference between you and me is, I'll wait 2-3 years and binge watch on netflix for nearly nuthin'    :)

Ha! You're right. Sooner or later, folks going to the cable office will find it closed, with an "Out of Business" sign on the door.

It might be a bit early, but if I had guts I'd short the major cable company stocks. Someone is going to do that, and timed right, will make a fortune.

I only have Netflix..

I did have HULU for a while but found that the serial TV shows were totally ticking me off as they were full of lib social advocacy crap.

I dumped Hulu with a rather nasty comment for them to read.

Netflix offers most of the older, pre-moonbat television and any movie I might want. That is enough for me.

Also, I never see the News shows!

It’s a blessing..

Cut my cable last Saturday, just in time to miss the FOX debate. No regrets.
