Based on that, who will get the lion’s share (sorry, Cecil) of Trump’s supporters should he leave the race?
No doubt, but the sad fact is that the US electorate in 2015 is a childish bunch, easily led by sound bites. Perhaps after his experience in show business, Trump understands this, and is willing to go to where the voters are. More people read tweets than press releases, much less policy papers.
Is it just my imagination, or are all the most vehement anti-Trump Freepers those who have been here the longest? If so, then it leads me to think of them as the typical establishment types, those who see Trump as a threat because he does not “play nice with others” - especially gutless establishment eunuchs.

Nope. That’s an ignorant conclusion. My candidate is Ted Cruz, THE most conservative candidate running, and the most brilliant and with the strongest conviction and conservative record.

Yes, Trump is a brash ass, a whining self-centered bully. And he gets a lot of attention, like a car accident. He’s also a pompous RINO, though he talks a big game.
If you really cared about voting for an anti-establishment candidate, someone set against the Washington Cartel, you too would put your support behind Ted Cruz. A candidate who’s never whined about being asked difficult questions.

Many other FReepers see the advantage / utility of Trump with Cruz - except for the tit-in-a-ringer establishment crybabies that hang around here like cobwebs, unable to offer anything but insults against those who disagree with their worn-out go-along-to-get-along tactics - the “strategy” that always ends up with putting another Marxist in charge of the store.
