A lesbian couple scrawled homophobic abuse on their garage before burning down their own house in Tennessee then calling it a hate crime, a court ruled.
Carol Ann and Laura Jean Stutte reduced their own house to a pile of charred rubble in September 2010 and branded their neighbor a homophobe in order to get the $276,000 insurance pay out.
But insurers American National Property and Casualty Company caught on to the ruse and accused the couple of faking the fire.

When somebody is looking to insult two lesbians, “queers” is exactly what comes to mind—NOT. But using George Costanza, it’s just that weird idiosyncrasy that makes it more believable. Have fun paying on a house that is a pile of ash, morons.

The article didn’t say what the evidence was against them. Maybe the authorities just pulled them into a room, said “We know you did it”, and bluffed a confession out of them. Somebody who would do this isn’t too bright to begin with.
They were stupid... they drew attention to themselves with the “hate crime” ,, and they likely made everything “perfect” for themselves. perfect alibi , “lucky” that Fido was at the groomers , use of liquid accelerants... To get away with arson is simple ,, just do it in such a way that it’s an accident... left something on the stove and fell asleep for instance... sure you look like a fool and you won’t be keeping that insurance company but they will pay and you won’t go to jail.
I’m sure that the distribution curve is skewed. Certainly there are some homosexual who are conservatives, as well as some who pretend to be conservative.
I figure something like 90-10

Will they be held accountable legally and financially?
They both need to be sent to prison.
In Utah, a moron middle-easterner with a failing hotel business tried the same thing right after Sept. 11th. He claimed that people were driving past his hotel giving him “hard” looks, yelling insults, and vandalizing things (dude had cameras but they mysteriously never captured anything). When he burned the place down and claimed it was anti-muslim haters, it wasn’t too hard to catch him in repeated lies and get him to confess that he did it to get out of his financial problems.
Oh, okay! That’s interesting. And let me guess, they show signs of tidying up personal affairs and sometimes go out looking at houses, cars, and other expensive things in anticipation of the payout. Another dead giveaway: telling a debt collector with certainty, “Get off my a**, this time next month you’ll have your money and everybody’s happy.”
Dyke is the new fraud.
That’s what I don’t get. That’s their WHOLE identity? In their heads they’re not a doctor or an engineer or a car mechanic, they’re a HOMO and everything revolves around that. It’s a pathetic empty existence, all they can think about is f***ing.

They’re a protected species like sea turtles... They will lose the house , not get any money (obviously) , they will be arrested but they will get a GENEROUS plea deal , the insurance company will drop any civil action as they avoided cutting the check ... in the end they’ll do minimal time in a minimum security prison , while in prison they’ll file bankruptcy and they’ll be out in a year or two at most. When they get out they will be “helped” re-enter the workforce and society thanks to your generous tax donations.
But it was supposed to be an arson. By their neighbor.

These cases usually seem to end up in front of a liberal judge, the defendant(s) claim that they're mental, were taking tons of anti-depressants, SSRIs, etc., were mistreated as youths, and allowed to plead to something pretty minor.
Then they get community service with time served, plus probation.

Actually, they should be charged with hate crimes. Did not they commit their fraud to incite hate and fear?
