Big Donors Warn Candidates On Eve Of Debate: “Take Trump Out”
dc whispers ^ | August 5, 2015

Posted on 08/06/2015 9:14:13 AM PDT by Red Steel

Though the Fox News promos state it is a debate of Republican candidates, most of the network’s on-air personalities have admitted publicly it has turned into the Donald Trump show as the top GOP contender has become the single most referenced topic on the minds of everyone following the 2016 Race for the White House.

That reality is not sitting well with GOP power brokers who are said to have made it clear to operatives linked to a variety of candidate camps that Donald Trump cannot be allowed to appear to win tomorrow night’s debate. Some are said to have taken an even more aggressive stance by indicating Trump’s Republican rivals are to “take him out” tomorrow night.

Trump has shocked the GOP establishment with his currently growing base of support based largely on his straight talk and a repeated promise to “Make America Great Again.”

That dominance is said to be facing its most focused challenge tomorrow night as Mr. Trump will be target #1 for a number of GOP hopefuls who have been told their own presidential hopes will be finished if they do not help in breaking the Trump momentum once and for all. This threat is said to come from an assortment of Wall Street and business interests concerned over the potential volatility of a Trump political machine – volatility that might make him “unmanageable” should he actually go on to become the Republican nominee.

It should also be noted some of these high-powered donors are helping to finance the campaigns of BOTH Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush. Presently, Donald Trump represents the single greatest threat to their intention of controlling the outcome of the 2016 presidential election.

Of the candidates who are said to have been given their anti-Trump marching orders last night, one was apparently told with the greatest sense of urgency – Senator Marco Rubio

Senator Rubio is currently sitting near the bottom of the top-tier candidate rankings with just 5% support among Republican voters. He was not so long ago viewed by some to be a legitimate contender for the GOP nomination. If he is to regain that former momentum (and the all-important campaign dollars that come to a real contender) he must prove himself to the political donor class tomorrow night by coming out aggressively against Mr. Trump.

It was reportedly the Rubio campaign that was specifically given the directive to, “take Trump out” during this week’s debate.

Has ANYONE downloaded the Fox News reaction app? You react to what the candidates are saying via the app. Think luntz’s dial o reaction devices.

This would be a good way to neutralize the jbush canned same old same old talking points.

Thousands upon thousands of H1-B visa employees have only just graduated from college, meaning they’ve only just finished taking courses in engineering or computer programming.

In other words, they have have SKILLS in NAME ONLY.

There is no need for many of them to be in the USA, since they still need years of on the job training and mentoring to become productive employees.

And, I’ll admit, I’m still very pro-middle class worker.

Then you are no Democrat or liberal...it's been decades since they were about the middle class worker. But please please don't fall for liberal populism as a way to protect the middle class worker. All those attempts are fools errands.

I agree. He’s been a street fighter his entire life. The other day when doing research : there is a PAC of technical staff from Hollywood who plan to do a series of videos using their talent. The spokesman said it will take multiple segments to cover his time at the Military School and he personally could not have survived it.
Statement gives me a different facet of his tough side

I notice in all these so-called articles, no one ever names who these big GOP power brokers are. Other than the C of C I don’t know them.

I’m with you...to hell with the GOP. They have lied and stabbed us in the back far too often to have any credibility left with the base. Thus they lost in 1996, 2008 and 2012. Then they blame the base for being stupid.

No way to go through life.

... GOP power brokers who are said to have made it clear to operatives linked to a variety of candidate camps ...

Didn't we already suspect that the crony communist donors paid most of the 23, or 37, or 42, vanity candidates to dilute the field so as to allow their stooge (JEB) to win with the same 20% of primary voters that nominated the loser Romney in 2012?

People are supporting Trump because those communist pissants must be defeated.

I’m a Cruz fan but he’s starting to sound like a consultant with talking points. He no longer answers questions off the top of his head like he used to. It’s all sound bites now. If he keeps doing what the consultants want he’ll lose.

I saw him on Fox the other day (Megyn Kelly I think)and he completely ignored a question and went straight to a practiced talking point and never let go regardless of the follow up questions. I cringed.

No, most corporations donate heavily to the Dem side of things.

The influence is used to limit competition. Who does Buffet support? Gates? Apple? What does their support buy them?

The Unions are small fry on the national scale

Actually, unions are the biggest financial special interest group of all. Much of it is government unions, but also AFL CIO and Teamsters etc.

I understand your wish but you are a political person- a student of history and law- my father was the same. His children and grandchildren us that terminology only when they quote dad

TRUMP comes from a family of men who first of all worked with their hands Restaurant/hotel owner. Builder who emerged into a developer. He went into the family business bringing his education from Wharton home to not only work with his father but expand his ancestors dream.
Rubio. Cruz, Jindel, all toot their families successful American dream. Trump.is the epitome of it. His mother Mary from Scotland. His paternal grandparents penniless from Germany (When Germans needed to lie about where they were from and change the family name.)
In three generations the Trump family have come from penniless to multimillionaire

Follow the money.

In Illinois, the unions don’t have near the pull than a John Deere or Caterpillar does.

Unions donate a lot, don’t get me wrong, but the corporations write the policy that becomes the laws. They fund the PAC’s that fund the candidates.
