Almost Every Major Poll Shows Bernie Sanders Challenging or Defeating Clinton and Republicans
Huff Po ^ | August 5, 2015 | H. A. Goodman

Posted on 08/05/2015 5:45:22 AM PDT by Din Maker

Democrats who are proud of their progressive values are filling arenas to hear Sanders speak in a direct manner (while others dodge questions) on contentious issues like Keystone XL and the Trans Pacific Partnership agreement. While the FBI is currently investigating the email security of one candidate, Bernie Sanders is narrowing Clinton's lead nationally and defeating Republicans in other polls. Like Brent Budowsky writes in The Hill:

The fact that Sanders beats Walker by 6 to 7 points, depending on whether all voters or likely voters are counted -- a near-landslide margin in a general election -- makes it clear that the Sanders surge is more than a surge against Donald Trump, but move that makes him competitive with all candidates.

With Sanders already surging in Iowa, and now virtually tied with Clinton in New Hampshire, it's important to remember that Vermont's Senator is doing something most observers once thought to be an impossibility. He has a great chance of winning the first two contests on the road to the Democratic nomination, while his challenger deals with subpoenas from Congress and other scandals. Every classified email uncovered by the FBI dooms one candidate, while paving the way for Sanders.

In several matchups in Iowa and Colorado, Bernie Sanders runs as well as, or better than Clinton against Rubio, Bush and Walker. Hillary Clinton's numbers have dropped among voters in the key swing states of Colorado, Iowa and Virginia. She has lost ground in the horserace and on key questions about her honesty and leadership.

Honesty and a genuine value system are the primary reasons Bernie Sanders is gaining in the polls. Bernie Sanders reminds voters of an ideal. It's this ideal that will enable Sanders to surge past Clinton and towards the Democratic nomination.

“To advocate socialism requires a large amount of ignorance and a little hatred, resentment, and class envy.”

Not to mention a basis of atheism, steeped with deep abiding hatred for any idea of a supreme being.

IMHO

But a majority of our nation has been dumbed-down and brainwashed by our educational system, and our media that Marxism is good - only they know it only as Democratic party world-view. Even Debbie blabbermouth Wasserman-Shultz doesn’t know what socialism is.

They don’t know how to think, and are the real “mind-numbed robots”.

Simple, whoever has the most money to pay for polling. Always follow the money.

The ignored elephant in the room is that Bernie is not a Democrat. It does not matter that he caucuses with them. He could not be the Democrat candidate, but he sure could run third party. THAT is what freaks Democrats out.

If there was a Republican candidate with views as kooky and extreme as Sanders’ the media would turn him into a McDonald’s Happy Meal toy within a week. Of course, Sanders is an “Independent” Socialist, but low-information voters just think that’s a more “fair” thing than what we have now, so they have no issues with it.

Pollsters need to stop smoking weed before tallying their numbers.

It sounds like somebody has been hittin’ da happy smoke. Hillary is going to be the ‘RAT nominee and all of the “major polls” in the world aren’t going to change that.

Comrade Bernie is 73. He is humorless, pedantic, & intolerant of opposing views.

Ronald Reagan was 73 when he creamed Walter Mondull in ‘84. He was much younger than his age, cheerful & optimistic & remained so for the rest of his days.

Sanders has been waiting for the revolution since 1968. The waiting has left him burned out as a human being.

Michael Savage said last week he was praying for a “Shootout between Socialism and Capitalism”..... between Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump.

Once, and for all... let’s get it on.

I agree... except, I don’t think it would be “for all”. Like cockroaches, Leftist NEVER go away. They just run for the shadows until people forget they are there.

I wondered about him being an Independent. How is that going to work? Can he just cross over and be a dem. Kind of embarassing to have someone that’s not in your party just walk in and take over.

“To advocate socialism requires a large amount of ignorance and a little hatred, resentment, and class envy.”

You’ve just described the mindset of at least 47% of the electorate.

Sounds like the typical poster I encounter on the MSM comment boards. They defend Planned Parenthood and every other odious leftist plank. They denounce God with a gleam. They are Legion.

As to Sanders beating Republicans, pollsters routinely over sample Dems vs Republicans.

That's likely true, especially when you have a pro-'Rat pollster, which is probably the case in whatever poll(s) this Huff Post writer is citing.

But when he comes up with Sanders beating Walker in a head to head matchup, I'd like to know what percentage of those questioned even know who Sanders and Walker are. My guess is that name recognition nationally is very low for both at this stage of the game. So I'd call the result of this poll meaningless.
