Governor Walker has faced them down. They know what he can do. They're working to raise an army of opposition to stop him from facing them down on the national stage.
Scott Walker has successfully pushed back against the The Wisconsin Idea - the incubator of policies that has fostered and driven national progressive policy in education, media and politics for over a century.
Maybe. But first they need a Pat Paulsen.
This is an impossible task. The modern democrat party has no place for a D that does not give full-barreled support of public employee unions. The unions are the bully-boy attack dogs of US politics, funded by mandatory collection of union dues.
Such a politician would be irrelevant in the modern dem party. He would be ridden out of town on a rail with no money and a well-funded primary everywhere he ran.
They used to have one... his name was George McGovern.
Also, FDR, while certainly an advocate for trade unions, was strongly opposed to public employee unions. He considered them a betrayal of the public trust.
The Democrats keep nominating dishonest, sleazy traitors.
What the Democrats really need is a good Christian candidate, someone honest, of good moral character. Of course, he would also need to support abortion and sodomy.
FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.
I think that WSJ’s assumption is that Democrats are just more liberal (in the original context) Americans. They aren’t. They are the New Socialist Party. In socialism the state is an instrument of violence. Unions are their private army.
A very naive opinion piece. Today’s Democratic party will never turn their back on Public Employee Unions — it’s too good a honeypot for them.
Today’s donkey party is just a glorified version of an organized crime family - the office holders are the capo’s, groups like the SEIU and “Organizing for America” make up the crews.
The Democrats as currently constituted can no more hold onto their power with out bowing to the desires of these groups than any capo could get by with his crew - that’s all one needs to know to understand how quickly the Dems fell in line when it came to defending the defenseless as exemplified in the current exposure of the activities of Planned Butcherhood.
Today’s Democratic Party is just full of loons. The fact they’re even defending the goriness that’s going on at Planned Parenthood without a second thought tells us they’re people without consciences or morals. Men like Scott Walker and Ted Cruz would make fine presidents, but the political class is so despised and that is why Trump is getting so much support. I don’t want that man anywhere near the presidency, but I’ll hold my nose to support him if he’s the nominee to deny Hillary or Joe Biden the presidency.
