There was confusion coming out of the Kremlin on Tuesday regarding Russia sending paratroopers to help the Assad regime in Syria, a longtime client state of Moscow.

Russian news agency TASS initially reported that the commander of Russian airborne forces, Colonel-General Vladimir Shamanov, when asked by a Syrian reporter about Russia sending troops to help the Assad regime battle Islamic extremists, said, “Of course we will execute the decisions set forth by the country’s leadership, if there is a task at hand.”

He noted the close connection between the Russian and Syrian military, “Many Syrian experts, including military, received education in the Soviet Union and in Russia.” This comment ignited a firestorm in the media that Russia was prepared to insert ground troops into the Syrian civil war.

Even if Putin were a 4 year old child, he would have NO PROBLEM outwitting President Obama. If Putin (at least his exterior) is made of steel, Obama’s exterior AND interior is made from wet toilet paper and EVERYBODY ON THE PLANET KNOWS IT...
As Obama cuts US defense, Putin, China, Iran and other simply and massively build them up. We are heading, unfortunately to Pearl Harbor II...

Russia has repeatedly snookered Obama's plans to destabilize and install a Caliphate state in Syria, disproving Assad's use of gas WMD's and exposing the "rebel" false flag gassing, brokering the Syrian surrender of chemical weapons from under Kerry's nose, and sinking the Qatar/Turkey pipeline plan.

They may move to hinder US/Turkey air support plans to thwart the Kurds rise against ISIS and Turkey.

I suspect Russian troops will not be unprotected, making things quite dangerous.

Humm. Something odd, here. Russia has stopped supplying and repairing the regimes high tech equipment. The logistics support for this equipment has been withdrawn. So, now they are sending in elite troops? I suspect this is a ploy.

It’s getting to the point these days of of wondering *What isn’t?*

Seems like almost everything we’re hearing in the news is somehow pointing towards the fulfillment of end times prophecy.

Thanks for the ping.

The only way any nation could control/contain the chaos in Syria & Iraq is with a massive military force, air, land & sea. The rewards for such an intervention are uncertain & the risks great.

A paratroop landing would be for the rescue of Assad, his family & close associates. If that is on the minds of Moscow then Assad doesn’t have much time left.

Well I hope Putin and Assad coordinate their movements because Assad has been dropping barrel bombs on the civilian towns which oppose him. Barrels full of explosives and metal fragments. Such a sweet, honorable man.

“Barrel bombs are improvised weapons: oil drums or similar canisters filled with explosives and metal fragments. They are dropped without guidance from helicopters hovering just above antiaircraft range, typically hitting the ground with huge explosions and the widespread diffusion of deadly shrapnel. They pulverize neighborhoods, destroy entire buildings and leave broad strips of death and destruction.”

I humbly disagree — the focus of the Iran-Russia-Assad axis is against the Sunni jihadis. The Sunni jihadis want to kill Americans, Europeans, Russians, Iranis, Syrian Christians and Alawis.
