Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz said the the nine GOP presidential candidates who will take the debate stage Thursday with frontrunner Donald Trump will be wise not to take him on.
"Donald Trump is going to win any confrontation," Dershowitz said Tuesday on "CNN Tonight."
"He's a populist," Dershowitz said of Trump. "He doesn't have to worry about what he says."
Republican voters love the billionaire real estate developer because he doesn't have speechwriters, and anyone who takes him on is going to lose, Dershowitz said.

Dershowitz was Cruz's law school professor and is well aware of Cruz's formidable debate skills, having praised them highly in the past.

Trump will be offered something he would like, with a promise of support for a future Presidential run. It can be done. I believe it has been done in the past, many times.

I agree with those who say Trump and Cruz won’t confront each other.
At this point, I think Cruz is happy to have Trump, and Carly and Jindal all attacking the Establishment- whatever draws the line between the GOP-e and the regular folks.
If Cruz has to confront trump in the future— no contest.

Dershowitz can't grasp the concept of truth. Trump says what he feels. He don't ask permission. How do you attack or debate against that? Unfortunately for the other guys they can't say the real truth about every issue. What about those lobbyist$ ?

Cruz is going to be the best technical debater onstage, Trump the most persuasive debater.
As with the contest so far, the debate isn’t going to be won on technical points.
Trump is a counter puncher. I don't expect Cruz to throw any punches his way. Cruz will take on the GOPe and the Democrats. The losers will take their shots at Trump and... lose.

Trump is 69 Years Old. What “deal” could they give him?
He is Richer than Rich, has a Beautiful Young Wife and a large Family. If he pulled off being elected POTUS, he would lose much more than he would win. The exact opposite of Obama the Community Rabble Rouser.

BTW, in the debates, watch for Mister Trump to use Mister Perot's refrain to any and all difficult questions...
"It's simple" followed by some specious generalities.
Also watch for Mister Trump to attack the GOP frontrunners, so as to damage the primary leaders as much as possible.
