92-year-old registers to vote for first time, says will vote for Trump

KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) - In the story that is Beada Corum's life, she knows most of it has already been written.

"It's a history book," says Corum. "I raised eight children: four boys and four girls."

At 92-years-old, she should be slowing down. But, don't tell her that.

"I'm busy all of the time," she says.

Corum still makes her daily checklists and crosses them off as she goes. But last week, she crossed off something decades in the making.

This 92-year-old citizen registered to vote for the very first time.

"We got a good country but it's going downhill so fast and we need somebody in there who can straighten it out," says Corum.

In the past, Corum says there hasn't been a candidate she was passionate about. That all changed when she heard one man speak. Corum says she plans to vote for Donald Trump in the 2016 Presidential Election.

"He's got a strong mind and he speaks it out just the way he thinks it ought to be," she says.

Corum is proving you're never too old to make it count.

"I pray that I'll vote for the right person. And, when you pray with all your heart, it won't go void. That's my prayer," she says.

After years of being openly pro-abortion (but against partial-birth abortion, so basically the Patrick Kennedy stance), Trump first declared himself to be pro-life in 2011 (when he was thinking of running for president as a Republican): http://ontheissues.org/Celeb/Donald_Trump_Abortion.htm

As for Trump’s views on same-sex marriage, you’re correct, he has never come out for that abomination. He did recently say that his views on same-sex marriage are “evolving,” though, and pointed to how Obama switched from opposition to support of same-sex marriage, which is not very comforting. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2497633/Donald-Trump-says-views-sex-marriage-evolving-Miss-Universe-host-Thomas-Roberts-criticizes-Russias-anti-gay-laws.html

Personally, if I’m going to support someone without a record to back up his issue positions, I’d rather pick someone whose conservative views are rock-solid, like Ben Carson (although Carson really should have run for a lower office first—his lack of experience on the campaign trail shows). I do not trust Donald Trump.

I was referring to those who post misinformation about all the candidates.

Well, surely Jeb Bush didn’t do nearly as much as Donald Trump did to try to save Terri Schiavo’s life.

I’m glad this woman is finally voting - and voting for Trump. Maybe she lived to be 92 for a reason.

“Voters should be required to be registered by completing a simple CIVICS test before they can pull the lever.”

You’re missing the point. The objective is for as many people to vote as possible. Our beloved leaders figured out many years ago that they could imlement any manner of horrors just so long as they gave the people a one in one hundred miilion voice in who got to implement those horrors.

The very fact she’s not keeping her business to herself points to the opposite of what you say.

Instead of complaining about the problems now, she could have been part of the solution back in 1961 when the country rounded the bend towards socialism.

“Could you get a comment from Terri Schiavo?”

Bush pretended to care about Terri though. Even ordered the National Guard to protect Terri until he rescinded his order. The law that allowed the State to kill Terri was passed under Bush.

And more recently, while Bush was a founding director at Bloomberg Foundation, he evidently didn’t register any objections to the Bloomberg Foundation giving Planned Parenthood 50 million dollars.

Actually Terrie Schiavo broke the law. She didn't show up for her Congressional subpoena. Jeb had control over that, not Trump.

I’m seeing and hearing a lot of this.

Saw a guy who’d replaced his back windshield with a handwritten TRUMP! sign. Hearing some normally reserved family members getting excited too.

So this woman is registering to vote for Trump.

And she didn’t register to vote for Reagan in 1980 or 1984 because, why? Or in 1994 during the House Revolution?

Populism is NOT conservatism. She’s registering to vote for liberal populist, NOT a conservative.

“He certainly hasn’t been pro-life for most of his adult life, although perhaps he has declared himself as opposing abortion recently just as he switched from pro-same-sex marriage to pro-traditional marriage during the past year or so.”

Just like Walker switched months ago from being pro-amnesty.

We can’t go back in time and have her vote for Reagan. So I will take late rather than never.

“Well, surely Jeb Bush didn’t do nearly as much as Donald Trump did to try to save Terri Schiavo’s life.”

Trump wasn’t the Governor of Florida. If he just casually watched the story, he probably thought she was brain dead and on life support. I heard that description of Terri on FoxNews and CNN. Jeb Bush knew differently. He even asked St.Thomas Moore Law Center for an opinion, which he ignored.

Re: Legal Authority of Governor Bush to Prevent the Imminent Death of Ms. Terri Schiavo

“... In Conclusion, you have the legal authority to investigate this matter, prolong the life of Ms. Schiavo, and prevent a grave injustice.”

To be fair, Trump was friends with Bloomberg, how could he not be, but I think the Bloom is off the Rose. LOL

I like Carson a lot, but he hasn't been able to excite people, at least not yet. He's been getting better at giving concise and well thought out answers. I hope Trump uses him to fix healthcare.

Really, what did you do to try and save her life?

That was beyond the Pale. Tell me I misread what you said.

Just because she managed to respire for 92 years doesn’t mean she’s not an idiot.
