Wow, people do not understand capitalism. If the government forced this guy to not pay employees the way he wanted, that would not be capitalism. When he makes a decision about the way to pay his employees, and that decision either hurts or helps the company, that is capitalism. If some of the company's employees didn't like the way he ran the company, they should find new jobs. They did that!

Capitalism worked!

But now people are calling it communism? CEOs shouldn't be allowed to make decisions that they think will help the company, but might in fact have th r opposite effect? If that happens, we lost capitalism?

People definitely do not understand economics, nor do they understand a Constitutional government of limited powers. We are in many ways an illiterate country.

Back when one of Bill Clinton’s communist “advisors” suggested a “one-time levy” of 25% on all privately held retirement accounts, I mentioned that to a co-worker. She asked “What’s wrong with that?”

No concept that it was an unconstitutional “taking.”

No concept of how it would totally wreck the economy.

Right, that is free market capitalism.

“But now people are calling it communism? “

Yes, communism. Capitalism isn’t about making whatever choices you desire and then the freedom to do so is called ‘capitalism’.

I don’t recall anyone saying that government should control wages.

capitalism allows people to make communist decisions, like this guy. the end result is he and his company and staff suffer. may recover if they reverse course.

the same cannot be said for those that attempt capitalist decisions in communist countries.
