Yes. And it says “render unto Caesar.”
When properly interpreted, the Constitution will not violate biblical principles.
RE: When properly interpreted, the Constitution will not violate biblical principles.
THAT would have been my answer too :)
My Answer to the idiot reporter...
The Bible would have authority over the Constitution if we were a Theocracy...
Since we are not and we are a Republic, why would ask such a stupid question ?
Are you that dense ?
How would Martin Luther King answer that question? (not that the MSM would ever ask *him*).
My answer to the question is that evidently, Carson has taken “Art of Weaseling 101.”
Answer of corse is yes.
But it’s asked as a gotcha question. Car sons answer was not bad - “that’s not a simple question”.
We can see the pattern shaping up. They are going to try to ask conservatives gotcha questions about religion.
Meh on the gotcha question. If you’re going to run for POTUS, that’s not even a point to be made.
Thought he handled it perfectly.
“When properly interpreted, the Constitution will not violate biblical principles.”
That’s a good answer too.
There is not a conflict between the Bible and the Constitution.
The question is just a got-ya intended to stir up stuff.
How to answer this question???
I think I would say how the Founding Fathers established our system to have a secular government. Our government is a constitutional republic. The US constitution guarantees that every state shall have a republican form of government. The government is involved with secular matters, not with religious doctrine.
The Bible is the governing force for the lives of believers ,and for providing guidance in matters of faith. The Constitution is the governing force for the functioning of our government.
The Constitution overrides the Bible when it comes to matters of our secular government. The Bible overrides the Constitution when it comes to matters of faith.
The Bible is the rock upon which the foundations of our national constitution rest.
That’s a fine answer.
Will Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders be asked such questions? Assuming of course that Hillary would lower herself to go on a program such as Meet The Press????
If the reporter refuses to reply, counter with the words of Jesus ..
Neither will I tell YOU.
Question for Hillary and/or Sanders:
Does the Communist Manifesto have authority oover tyhe U.S. Constitution?
Romans 13:1-7
So “journolistas” like Todd are now getting their questions from Facebook trolls?
More proper answer is use both the Constitution and the bible. Just render to God that which is God's, and to America that which is the written law of the land. That will please God, I think.
Yes. Hillary or Sanders won’t be asked this.
Nor will they be asked something like, does social justice supersede the constitution?
