“There’s a lot of information out about Waco, (but) not a lot of information that any of it’s going to spill over into Sturgis,” said Dan Satterlee, an assistant director at the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation.

So I guess South Dakota has seen the autopsy reports and the videos

Common sense. 200 bikers with no warning vs 100,000 locked and loaded.

Do not understand. Article says attendance expected to be 1,000,000. (I guess they have intelligence.)

Not unexpected. Sturgis has become as near to hallowed ground as the biker community can get. Even for the 1% crowd. The Angels, Banditos, Pagans, and Mongols have been going for years without incident.

Back in the 70’s and early 80’s it would get wild but really has calm down.

Your number is probably better than mine. Hell, a million armed bikERS in South Dakota could pretty much start their own state. Who knows, maybe their own country.

What is curious is that the webcams have shown little activity so far. Usually I see bikes on the streets at least the week before the official start. Maybe I’ve been watching at odd times.

The police will not be able to shoot a lot of people like they did in Waco, far too many people with too many cameras.

Image the annual Sturgis tv shows!

Lack of cameras is not the problem in Waco.

As long as you keep Waco PD away it should go off without a hitch.

it is the 75th Anniversary, so they are guessing anywhere from 800,000 to 1.5 Million. But here is the thing. Bikes have been coming for weeks now. The rally officially kicks off today. So they are talking grand total for the whole of the event both official and unofficial.

We live about 45 miles from Sturgis, but we are off a major "cruise" road. Really other than the rumble, there are not any significant problems in the area. People come to enjoy the hills and go to the concerts. Bring lots of money I here drinks go for 12.00 bucks a pop up there. Anyway, we can handle it. Open carry state. ;)

The cops finished it, and killed all but one of the dead, is the word on the street (and is why the autopsy and videos have not been released).

Used to be that the cover up was always worse that the crime. This case may shatter that template.

That’s because Waco was manufactured. By the cops. If bikers were even half as dangerous as the red jackboot licking statist thugs (even here on FR) are saying, Sturgis would have exploded long ago.

A couple of years ago, we were getting ready to leave Minnesota to drive home in Kalifornia, via Rapid City....when I caught something on the news about Sturgis firing up.

We re-routed to the southern route, knowing that so many cyclists would make our logistics (eating, lodging, gassing up) a potential nightmare.

I often think of my high skoo pal who owns the Spearfish KOA....gotta be a goldmine for him!

It is a goldmine for a lot of people. Also, we are used to tourists. Patience is a virtue. We just hide out during bike week. I hope they enjoy the Hills. We will enjoy them after they leave. Spend that money! :)

“The cops finished it, and killed all but one of the dead, is the word on the street”

The word on the street from various bikers is that the cops acted responsibly and saved lives that day.

I would imagine that bringing in cops from six other states to assist has a little to do with keeping the peace.

All they’ve got now is AP headlines, and since most apparently came well after their pervert source got arrested, and they couldn’t find anyone as “reputable”, it’s easy to see why they’ve brought in fascist reinforcements here and stepped up the hate and lies.

Typical leftist thugs pretending to be conservative.

Shame on FR for enabling them.
