He’s right. It’s standard, every day, by-th-queeran, ordinary mohammedanism.
Consequences need to accrue to those within Islam who acquiesce to the violence perpetrated in the name of the religion. This cannot happen while those like Jeh Johnson give them a pass.
If they were doing so, then we would hear of jihadis within their midst being turned in by other Islamists. We would see a mobilization of efforts to bring them to heel. We are not hearing or seeing anything of the sort.

the islam of jakarta, or Riyadh or Islamabad is not the same as in the smaller towns. The Islam of desert tent dwellers depicted in Lawrence of Arabia is not the same as that today in modern Cairo or Abu Dhabi
