President says plan is 'the biggest most important step we've ever taken to combat climate change'
WASHINGTON (CNN) The Obama administration will unveil a major climate change plan Monday aimed at a large reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from the nation's coal-burning power plants, a senior administration official told CNN.
The "Clean Power Plan" is the final version of regulations by the Environmental Protection Agency, which President Barack Obama called "the biggest most important step we've ever taken to combat climate change," in a video released by the White House on social media Saturday night.
The plan will call for a reduction power-sector carbon pollution of 32% from 2005 levels in 2030 -- a 9% increase over the 2014 draft proposal, the official said. It will also call for a more aggressive transition to renewable energy.
"Power plants are the single biggest source of harmful carbon pollution that contributes to climate change," Obama said in the video. "Until now, there have been no fede

We don’t have to play along with this game, do we?
Watch your wallet. Obonzo is coming after your money again.
BTW: I thought the courts threw out all of this EPA nonsense. Somebody needs to go to jail.
He’ll wash his hands. All his policies, from Obamacare to Global Warming to even Iran getting the nuke, will happen several years after he’s gone. And the media will blame the sitting president. He knows it.
What? They’re gonna take our guns away ‘cause they cause climate change?
obozo: “Courts? We don’t need no steenkin’ courts!”
So much for Congress giving the executive branch broad discretion in the law to define and execute it. Want to blame someone? Blame Congress. If CO2 is a pollutant, everything’s a pollutant, and if everything’s a pollutant, there’s nothing that doesn’t fall under the king’s authority to regulate.
He’s got political cronies, sycophants, college buddies, Moochelle BFF’s, Nigerian scholars and shirt-tail relatives all lined up with their fusion devices, perpetual motion machines, etc. wanting a piece of the Climate Change boondoggle while the gettin’s still good.
Only two proposals will be offered in relation to “climate change”, but the supporting reward-punishment combinations may vary in its applications. Either higher taxes, to the point of confiscation, or more regulation, to the point of strangling industry altogether, but the end result is reduction of energy consumption. This in turn makes continued operation of the economy only possible with a tightening inward and downward spiral.
When this happens to a badly damaged flying object, it is termed a “death spiral”.
The industry was on life support and obozo just pulled the plug.
Hope Cecil Roberts and the UMW are happy. Our county took a big hit 2 yrs ago when they closed two coal fired plants. Over 600 direct jobs and 3 times that in associated jobs.
If it weren't for fracking this area would be a wasteland.
Too bad we don't have a voice in congress or an opposition party to resist this tyrannical BS.
How long will it take to undo all the bullshit this a-hole has implemented?
A Republican President can deep-six this. Hillary would rubber-stamp it.
Here we go again...
My wallet is scared.
There is absolutely no scientific proof that cutting US carbon emissions to zero would do anything to effect climate.

It’s not a”proposal “. It’s a diktat
