I’d sold this gun to a friend who really wanted it from me in 2000. I recently bought it back from his widow because I didn’t want it out there as it was. Paid her what he paid for it.

I sent it back to Taurus telling them about the mag release and asked about the recall. They recently came back to me and said instead of ‘repairing’ it they were going to replace it with a newer version - PT111 Millennium G2. Working with them now about getting it shipped back.

For everyone interested:

I read this thread and sent my PT 111 Millennium G1 Stainless back to Taurus. They received it on 9/17/2015 and about 2 months later their online system said “repairs complete”. I expected it returned soon. After about another month, I ‘chatted’ to them and asked what’s up? They said warranty department had decided to replace it with a PT 111 G2. Every month I checked back, 4-6 months because of back order. They wouldn’t tell me when, confirm to me if they were going to tell me it shipped, nothing but that they had my FFL preference on file.

6 Months to the day after they acknowledged receipt of it, I got a call from the FFL asking if I’d had a gun sent into them for repair.

I picked it up and long story short, I really like this pistol much better than that piece of crap I bought back in 1999. SA/DA vs the SA. Trigger lever lock and safety lock. Has the TSS key that locks it. Adjustable rear sight. Good feel, nice grip surface pattern on the handgrip, and an overall nice gun.

I’m happy, but their service is for sh!t. I hope nothing ever goes wrong with this one.
