I do want to qualify my posts: It is conjecture based on my familiarity with small town liberal politics in Massachusetts. I don’t personally know any of these people on the Stow planning board, so I paint with a broad brush.
But I call this as I see it.
As the re-enactors approach the town line, few know what is about to occur.
As they cross into the following township, most also don’t know what is occurring.
It is both a recognition of the beginning of individual freedom in this country and the loss of it 200 years later.
