“Accidentally?” That’s his story and he’s sticking to it.

From the headline alone, the timeline seems to be this:
1. Fellow shoots at critter
2. Bullet richochets
3. Somebody shoots the first fellow
4. First fellow dies
Then I read the story.
They have dead armadillos writing headlines over there.

An old 22 short might ricochet off an Armadillo shell but not likely. Sounds strange to me.

ALWAYS use AP rounds when potshotting armadillos.

Armadillos are tasty. They’re like opossum on the half-shell.

"TX 77 in the vicinity of Marietta"? I drove 77 through that area twice on Wednesday...
It blows my mind that I learn about something (not unbelievable -- especially for a shotgun pellet or .22) in my out-of-the-way county -- from a British paper -- and via FR!!
How do the Brits do that?
Guess I'll have to scour the local papers closely to see if this is ever reported here -- where it happened...

A couple of years ago, some men were shooting handguns at targets on stands erected across a creek (in a gully). Distance from shooters to targets was about 25 yards.
I was present and observing from behind and slightly to the left of the six-man firing line. Only observing because a friend was trying out my weapon.
One shooter was firing a Colt .45 revolver.
A Colt .45 bullet penetrated a target, struck something in the embankment to the rear of the target, ricocheted back across to the shooters' side of the creek, and struck one of the other shooters in the gut.
Two of us could see the bullet returning; the velocity was that slow. The bullet left a bruise on the man's gut, but he was not seriously hurt.

The bullets are bouncing off of something else, that shell isn’t that tough.

I keep hearing about people eating armadillos. Anyone here tried one before? How did it taste?
