Gun silencer sales are on fire.

The number of registered silencers surged 38% from last year to 792,282 in February 2015, according to the most recent figures from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. There were 571,750 licenses in March 2014.

"It's getting to be more mainstream," said Josh Waldron, CEO of SilencerCo, which makes and sells silencers.

I turn 70 on August 9th, so it’s now a Birthday Present when I buy it and a Christmas Present when I can take it home.

Just got my first “Tax Stamp”. The suppressor has been released from jail. It took just under 4 months. Getting ready to submit the paper work for a Silencerco-45-Osprey for my H&K USP45. It will be a nice Christmas present to myself.

I picked up my first "can" (a rimfire suppressor) on July 4 - I was pleased with the symbolism of that! Mine took just over 4 months, but according to the graphs at NFAtracker the times are increasing. I wonder if the "administration" has demanded a slow-down...

Like you, I've ordered my second one - a Silencerco Octane 45 for my...

wait for it...

H&K 45 Tactical USP!

Waiting on it to get shipped to the dealer so I can send in the paperwork.

I love the Spectre II - it is so nice being able to shoot without hearing protection, though the dogs still complain... Can't wait to see how the Octane does with my .45, or with a .300 Blackout w/subsonic ammo...

Good plan! I’ve been told that a silenced pistol is the way to go!

The “wait time” is the bummer. Did you use a Trust?

The 300 BLK is a joy to shoot sub-sonic with a can. Its not cheap to shoot unless you reload.

Yes, I had a trust created, with my wife and all the kids as trustees. It sucks that one has to wait for so long to take possession of something already paid for. I wrote one of my senators about this, but he was not sympathetic...

Yet one more bull$hit law that needs to go away.

I don't have one - yet - but my buddy does. A .300 BLK upper will be my next purchase. Figured it would be easier to get than the 'can' in the current environment, and take less time. The ballistics of the round are really pretty impressive for what it is. I can do the "roll yer own" bit.

One of only 9 states where they are not permitted.

I want a 300 upper for my M16A1.I was told that my 9mm suppressor would work with the 300 BLK.

The turnaround on corporate trusts these days (electronic or paper) for Form 1s/4s these days is actually longer than individual CLEO sign-off submissions.

NFATracker is a little behind on reporting this according to their trend graph. I know dealers who are reporting just over 40 days for receiving stamped CLEO paper forms where this had recently been taking an average of 120 days. Trusts are still taking 4+ months.

Leftists push health related agendas (healthy food, reduced salt intake, trans fat and on and on) yet have no problem with us suffering from a preventable malady, hearing loss.

I turn 70 August fifth of this year. I just learned how to make them when the rule of law is no longer working. They are actually quite easy to make from materials that are available at hardware stores now. Stock up. Never know when you’ll need large washers or sections of pipe and a threading kit. Plumbing chores and mechanical work require materials on hand don’tchaknow.
