Hillary Clintons polling is in freefall to such an extent that avowed socialist Bernie Sanders is looking like a palatable candidate to more than just the Democratic base.
A recent Quinnipiac poll shows that the inevitable Democratic candidate is seeing her campaigns momentum diminish. Time reports:
Six weeks after setting her candidacy into high gear, former Secretary of State Hillary Clintons poll numbers are continuing to fall, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll released Thursday.
Across nearly every key metric, from trustworthiness to caring about voters to leadership, Clinton has seen an erosion in public approval, as likely Republican rivals have erased her leads in the poll. Clinton has a net -11 favorability rating in the poll, with 40% of the American public viewing her positively and 51% negatively, with more than 50% of independents on the negative side.
Then there is the matter of her losing ground in public perception versus her GOP opponents:
If the election were held today, Clinton would be tied with former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker in the polldown from significant leads in a May 28 surveybut would top the current GOP frontrunner Donald Trump.
Uncharacteristically, Hillary Clinton would be in a battle against Jeb Bush and Scott Walker, but would win handily against a Trump candidacy (of course, its still too early to tell ahead of a first debate). Not only would Hillary edge Trump, so would Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden.
Matchups among all American voters show, via Quinnipiac:
>> Clinton thumps Trump 48 36 percent. She gets 41 percent to Bushs 42 percent and gets 44 percent to Walkers 43 percent.
>> Biden tops Trump 49 37 percent. He gets 43 percent to Bushs 42 percent and ties Walker 43 43 percent.
>> Sanders beats Trump 45 37 percent. Bush edges Sanders 44 39 percent and Walker slips past Sanders 42 37 percent.
The negatives for both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are appreciable:
Trump has the worst favorability rating of any Republican or Democrat, a negative 27 59 percent among all voters, with Clinton getting a negative 40 51 percent score, her worst ever.
The Fox News debate on August 6th will present Donald Trump and other qualifying GOP candidates with a crucial chance to improve their likability and broaden their appeal to the American electorate. Achieving all that while firing up the party base thats going to be a challenge for any presidential candidate at this stage in the campaign season.
Watch that focus group. Rush always says he knew Romney lost when he saw the exit polling that said Obama “cared for someone like me” or words to that effect. Here you had a variety of people saying “He’s like me.” The questioner couldn’t believe it. “He’s a BILLIONAIRE?” They came right back, “Yeah, but he’s like me.” That is something, so far, Ted Cruz and Scott Walker don’t have for whatever reason, and I don’t think Hillary can ever have it.
Hillary Clinton will be the first candidate seeking the office of the Presidency of the United States to plead the 5th in a Presidential debate.

Oh come on - even the democrats I know don’t like her.
Trump will get Union Votes, Black Votes, Latino Votes and the majority votes. Heck even his ex-wife will vote for him.
“Oh come on - even the democrats I know dont like her.”
In all seriousness I think, at this point, you have to be mentally ill to like her! I’m not even saying that a mentally ill person would necessarily like her, just that anyone who DOES like her must be sick. What is there about her for a reasonable person to like, even if they are liberal?
She hasn’t accomplished anything... all this time in Government and... nothing.
I suspect liberal elites back her because they can put money in the turnstile and cha-ching - she’ll ‘help’ them...
Sick.
dear Eddie,
As the sideshow operator would announce:
“AND THE MAN WINS THE CUPIE DOLL!”
