Last time anything like that happened was back in 1972, when Johnny Carson had Harry Chapin perform his song "Taxi" on the Tonight Show on two consecutive nights.

Notice how the interviewer tried to steer talk to class and wealth distinctions with...” but he’s a billionaire”.

They were’nt having any part of that.

I’d like to be a billionaire...he’s successful ( repeated several times ).

Everyone blew him off. Epic Fail!

I share every one of those views, frustrations, comments. What stunned me is how easily billionaire Trump crosses class lines and income lines. There were some not-rich people there who said “he’s one of us.” Well, they are right. He doesn’t hide behind his money like Hillary or Reid or McCain or some of the others do. Bravo to this group.

Now I’m starting to be suspicious. As Chris Hedges [whom we all hate, I know] made the best argument for the Branding Coup made on America when Obama was “packaged” as a reformer, street fighter, and all around racial peacekeeper.

“Barack Obama is a brand. And the Obama brand is designed to make us feel good about our government while corporate overlords loot the Treasury, our elected officials continue to have their palms greased by armies of corporate lobbyists, our corporate media diverts us with gossip and trivia and our imperial wars expand in the Middle East. Brand Obama is about being happy consumers. We are entertained. We feel hopeful. We like our president. We believe he is like us. But like all branded products spun out from the manipulative world of corporate advertising, we are being duped into doing and supporting a lot of things that are not in our interest.”

REMEMBER - the BRANDING of O fooled not just Democrats, but disenchanted gopers, and independents - Thinking “this guy is the REAL THING”. Wisconsin housewives swooned, congratulating themselves on HOW FAR WE’VE COME on racial issues. BRILLIANT strategy - because we all found out this was no reformer but a lawn jockey for Wall St and the same people who have controlled our election cycles for a very very long time.

As we get more savvy - so do our masters.

THAT SAID -

I know how much time and energy some of us have put into defending the Donald - scrappy outsider [check]- Demonized by the men and women we hate [check]- articulating everything the ‘average’ American ‘on both sides’ is angry about. [check]

the Donald - ridiculed, laughed at, and chastened by the ‘insiders’ we love to hate. [check]

Now that he has garnered the support of the extreme right, the packaging department is going to work on the middle and left -

ARE WE BEING MANIPULATED AGAIN.

Is this guy just another Wall St insider - packaged to play on the emotional strings of the disenchanted on both side, while working for the same ole same ole.

The turnaround on him is just a teensy bit too convenient. the talking heads at Fox, the ‘focus’ group - the 34% approval rating of Hispanics who are being drenched in anti Trump rhetoric on all the spanish speaking web sites and radio stations.

I Hate the Game so much.. and I fear it because of the branding game worked so well last time, they might be crafting another version... this time packaging the PERFECT foil to a Bush/Clinton defeat

all the while providing us with another drone for the banks, wall st, the multi nationals, et al.

anybody else smell a wall st rat?

Seemed to me there was very little substance
In what they had to say. It was all gut feeling,
but that is how most people vote.

Loved the video, everything those people had to say was the truth....we know what we want, we want someone who talks to us not at us, we want someone that has a spine, and Trump has that! and we want our American Dream Country back and just because he's a Billionaire doesn't matter to us, we want to see how he has done it and how's he's doing it..

I love those reporters, try as they may, you can see the gall of this businessman, who is not owned by anyone, eat their words....I loved it....

Barnicle, as offensive as I find him, got it right at the end of the video when he asked "if you were in a fight who would you want in your corner?"

People like that Trump has a backbone and instinctively fights back. Of course, he isn't the only republican with a spine, but he's doing a better job of connecting with the voters. Someone on the panel mentioned that the focus group included independents and democrats. If true, I understand why they found it so amazing.

Carbuncle proved that even a scumbag like him could get something right every month or so when he said Trump is approachable and that is a big difference between him and the others.

I liked the way Trump went down the escalator towards the end of the video. No other candidate would mount the escalator that way and then ride down it in such a cool, nonchalant fashion. Others would look dorky on a set of moving stairs but Trump has a way of riding the escalator in regal fashion.

Wow, you literally cannot buy that kind of reaction from Americans. All the other candidates must be green with envy.

I think Barnicle hit on it. There is no distance between Donald Trump and the voters. When people say “he’s one of us” what they are saying is “he’s not a politician.” I have a feeling this is going to a bad election to be an incumbent.

I also like that Trump is breaking the partisan divide. The two parties are so entrenched in their ideological bunkers, bought and paid for if you prefer, that they can look at an image of baby parts being auctioned off and not agree that is reprehensible. If we don’t get back to principle based policies, the Republic is going to die from the inside out.

These folks haven't forgotten what it is to aspire to be an American.

We have been bullied for 6 friggen years, we didn't build that, eat your freakin' arugula....

Eat your own dang arugula, we did build that, and yes we want something better, we want to succeed like Donald, not feel like we are cause of all the ills in the world.

If he pulls this off, it is gonna be a crappy 8 years for Mika and the rest of the chattering class...

Anything to get rid of the sneakiness, dishonest and secretive attributes of the one party system, would be great. Not so sure Trump will be better if he got into office, but he out of the closet concerning the problems facing Americans when he campaigns.

No one is mentioning that Trump said he’d “take of the dreamers” and give a path to citizenship to non-criminal illegals. Have not heard the details of what the secure border wall will entail. Need National Guard stationed there by law and make it legal to shoot illegals who attack border agents.

Whatever Trump (or Cruz) does, if he fails to make it a criminal offense to any government or non-government official to undermine securing the border security or abetting illegals, the changes and laws he makes will be ignored by the next globalist in power as happened to Regan.

He has to put criminal charges on crossing the border illegally and for foreigners voting in our elections. Risking a criminal record for violating these laws, would be a huge disincentive for illegals hoping to become citizens and stay here.

There should be a criminal penalty for hiring illegals. This is checked through social security numbers and Obama has been issuing social security numbers to illegals. All that has to be revoked. Obama broke the law doing that in order to undermine employers checking for illegals applying for jobs. And get rid of the millions of Muslims and other society disruptive foreigners (like drug dealers and gangs) Obama has been illegally shipping into the US. If they have nothing to offer the US in job skills we lack, ship them out.

Why has the Mexican consulate spread itself all over our country to take of their illegals and issue them Mexican cards? Get them out of here. This is America; not Mexico.

The Universities need reform badly. Why are we funding departments of radical Islam, racist minority studies, man hating feminist wackos, and queer studies? All this is designed to divide and conquer us. What a waste of money. What far left and globalist treason of anti-American indoctrination. It is an effort to divide and conquer us. What happened to civics - teaching the constitutional freedom that unites us all.

Why do we bring in so many foreign students. Can’t their own country educate them and we work to bring up our smart students (regardless of tribe or race) to replace at least some of the foreigners? Why do we bring in foreign workers to replace American workers. We are NOT the world. We are a country in competition with all the other countries our size.

The State Department needs to be cleaned out, head to toe. So many traitors there who could care less about American interest.

We need Sharia law illegal across the Nation (Federally) because it udermines America’s rule of law. The Department of Justice needs to focus on the Muslims here to be sure they are accepting religious freedom and the laws in our country that differ from Sharia...like beating and murdering your wife and/or children. If they don’t like it, they can go to a Muslim Nation. We are not that.

Currently Americans feel like foreigners in our own land.
