It was a shocking scene at one of the citys most visited landmarks. CBS2 political reporter Marcia Kramer obtained exclusive images of what some call the latest public insult of Mayor Bill de Blasios New York City. Pictures were snapped of a homeless man taking a bath in the fountain at Columbus Circle, a popular city landmark that is now the bathtub of a bum. The man who took the photo called the incident simply appalling.

All he had to do was fart, and he’d have a Jacuzzi.
Aren’t cleaner bums preferable to stinking bums?
That one is now among the "washed"!
Hobos are wanderers seeking work, then moving on. Bums are leeches seeking handouts. The bums washing in the fountains is more appropriate.
from the article:
“Kramer then sought out the mayor to demand answers.
Kramer: .....I have in my hand a picture of a man who takes a daily bath, with soap I might add, in the fountains at Columbus Circle. I wonder what you can do about this?
De Blasio: .....We are going to enforce quality-of-life offenses. The fact is (NYPD) Commissioner (Bill) Bratton is dedicating a lot of resources right now to hot spots where we believe were having serious quality-of-life issues and youre going to see the effect of that very quickly.
Kramer: .....But when you see somebody taking a bath in
OMG! There’s a guy taking a bath every day... with soap! Time to crack down on the soap pushers. They’re ruining our city! Got to nip this in the bud. Before you know it, our kids will be buying imported goat milk soap in back alleys. It’s the French Connection all over again!
Send the bast..d to the group W bench, maybe shoot him
Can’t decide if this is a Seinfeld episode or one of the lost verses to “Alice’s Restsurant”.
After all, the man could have been cleaning up for a job interview.............
Well, it’s already got Kramer in it.
I have happy memories from many decades ago, of playing in a splash fountain in Central Park. My grandmother lived on E 69th, so I am guessing the play area was located on the east side of the park — but I was very young and this was a long time ago, so I’m not sure.
I don’t know about all fountains but I know it’s no go at Columbus Circle.
Everybody specializes these days.
