From the article... “People who own magazines that hold more than 10 rounds will have 60 days from the time the law goes into effect to destroy, legally sell or surrender them. Violators will face a misdemeanor charge”

So they just created a new class of criminals.

This is what Liberal Fascism looks like.

Over tin and plastic boxes...

to destroy, legally sell or surrender them. ==

Already banned by Calif state law. And by Calif law, can’t sell them (at least in Calif), probably can’t carry them to the border even. That would be state border. Drug cartels carry hi-cap mags back and forth over the US border 24/7.

Unless you have a “Registered Assualt Rifle”, with over 10 round mags. I guess in LA these are now illegal, and guess what. Being legally registered, the DOJ knows where you are.

Don’t know about an older 13-rd Browning mag, inherited from Dad before the Calif law.

The law is on the books. Enforce it. How will another identical law make any difference. LA law is only a misdemeanor; where’s the teeth?

But at the news conference, we were told: who needs a 100-round drum magazine and fully automatic gun to defend themselves at home?

Hey both those items are major felonies (already) in CA.

"...destroy, legally sell or surrender them.

"Except that it already illegal to sell, or even give away, a magazine grandfathered legal under prior state restrictions.

Don't leave too many alternatives does it!

***People who own magazines that hold more than 10 rounds ***

Really, this is a very good law. No one is ever killed or wounded with the first ten rounds! They are merely noise makers! It is the bottom rounds that do all the killing!

Then when you switch magazines, again the top ten are merely noise makers till the last bottom rounds come up!

Do I REALLY need to add a (Sarcasm) tag?

Ex post facto.

You suppose there is exemptions for City Council persons, body guards, gangbangers, cops and swat. Lest I forget judges.
