Why Trust Trump?
American Thinker ^ | 07/29/2015 | Bruce Walker

Posted on 07/29/2015 7:34:08 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

As conservatives prepare to support a Republican for the 2016 presidential race, a large number seem convinced that Donald Trump is their best choice. Why? He is certainly mouthing the right things on many issues, particularly immigration, but does Trump really believe what he is saying? Surely that is the key.

Consider his history. Trump has given money to Hillary Clinton, to Chuck Schumer, to Harry Reid, and to the whole rogue’s gallery of dreadful leftists who are ruining America. He can have only two explanations for helping these corrupt Democrats.

First, he was so dumb and ignorant about what Hillary or Harry represented that he had no idea that helping them would ruin America. Millions of conservatives grasped the wickedness and deceitfulness of these leftists decades ago. When did Donald learn that they were bad? Why was he so much slower and stupider than the rest of us?

Second, Trump may have simply been buying influence in Washington with money. If that is so, then why in the world would conservatives give him a second glance as a presidential candidate? Buying influence in Washington is precisely what we are fighting. Even if Trump were padding his bets by giving money to both sides, he is as bad as or even worse than any run-of-the-mill Washington politician.

Consider his flip-flopping on abortion and on gay marriage. His position on socially conservative issues sure seems to follow what Trump needs to be popular. Has Trump even articulated a serious critic of Abortionism or gay marriage? He may, in fact, have changed his position on those issues, but the reasons why look like political expediency.

Most of us can see there isn't ONE perfect person to be our next PERFECT President...

The closest thing to being PERFECT is Trump and Cruz....I hate to tell you guys this, don't want to break your rose colored glasses, but Reagan wasn't PERFECT either...he was a democrat at one time, he was in Hollywood making pictures, where there were extra martial affairs going on, where J.Edgar Hoover was trying to find ‘commies’, (remember Peter Lawford)....

John F. Kennedy wasn't perfect either, and today, if he were alive, he would be a Republican....he slept around, his family was part of the mob, his brother was IMHO, killed by them,

Perfect people go to Heaven, us ‘normal’ imperfect people are still here, so Trump isn't perfect, and Cruz isn't perfect, but their darn close to it....

The only thing we can trust any of these people to do is that each one of them (like each one of us) will do what they perceive is in their best interest.

Our job then is to try to determine, based on their past history, which one of these people’s self interest best coincides with ours.

The difference is that I don’t think that Trump is ideological at all, but just fed up like the rest of us. I wouldn’t vote for him, but I sure do enjoy the angst he is causing the GOP-E.

Why trust John Bonehead, Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan and the rest
of the corrupt RINO’s?

A lot of people like his words, but haven't followed his actions.

I've always believed he is a snake oil salesman. A circus barker. Still do.

It’s that “past history” thing you cite some here use try to use for their candidates who have an equivocating position on illegals with respect to amnesty, pathways, high-standard and all that double-talking gobbledygook.

It’s called “squirrel!”

I don’t think he thinks he is a problem yet...at the same time, I think Cruz is the Consummate gentleman. He hasn’t really attacked ANY of the candidates running. McConnell, yes, GOP candidates no...

So, by that logic, we could say Cruz thinks that none are the problem.

Trump WAS performing a valuable service at the start...now, not so much. His finking out of a debate, his attacks on Walker, remaining silent on Planned Parenthood and Cruz’s attack on McConnell, his flipping on Amnesty...

Cruz will make this distinction during the debate.

I don’t. The reason for this question about Trump is his polling. Polling that cuts into the establishment RINOs in this campaign.

I trust him far more than Bush, Huckabee, Rubio, or many others.

But even if Cruz or Walker is elected, I seriously doubt they would have the viciousness and ego of Trump to totally eviscerate the bureaucracy and fire the idiots by the hundreds. Only Trump CAN. Now, there is a good debate about what he "would" do, but I'm increasingly thinking that only he CAN effect change. I like Cruz's and Walker's positions, but the latest silliness of adding amendments to a highway bill to defund Planned Parenthood show me that Cruz is still playing "small ball" and/or doesn't have the clout inside the Senate to accomplish anything; and Walker as I keep saying has done fantastic things at the state level and has been totally inept, so far, at translating that stuff into a vision of sweeping overall change.

But if he happens to be the last man standing and running against Hillary...who would you vote for...or would you not vote at all.

Well why would you trust any of them? The GOP-e has not kept a single one of their promises, and Jebbie boy is apparently their anointed one, so screw him. I wouldn’t trust him around the corner with a sack of fresh organic fertilizer. Fat ass from NJ should run as a Democrat so why trust him? etc. So look at your “truth” and come up with a reason to trust any of them more than any other.

Trust?

It’s like a bunch of burglars are holding you and your family hostage, inviting the worst dregs of non-arrested criminal perpetrators into your home to eat, leave a mess, take your stuff you worked to afford and purchase, rape the women, kill and or maim the men and boys and a local successful famously loud mouthed merchant shows up to untie you and help and the burglar, along with the local news thugs ruining the outside of your violated home, ask ‘why would you trust him?’

The answer is, ‘We don’t. So what? Hands up, you’re going to jail anyway ya d head’

one thing’s for sure, you cannot trust a career politician.

The supporting evidence for that statement is very clear. And cannot be refuted.

The reasons vary, but it usually comes down to money. The large donors expect something in return. If not, no cash for next election cycle.

The party bosses can cut off their personal and business ties, along with making sure they get limited exposure from the press, effectively ending their political career.

Donald Trump doesn’t have that ball and chain. He’s financially and socially independent. That means he’s free to listen to the American people without fear of going broke or losing what he’s taken a lifetime to build.

What never seems to get mentioned is that all the politicians talk a good game. But when it comes time to deliver, they fold like a cheap suit.

Trump talks a good game too. But the difference is he has a record of getting things done quickly and effectively. AND NOBODY OWNS HIM.

I don't see anyone "ignoring" the others. However, they've ALL flip--flopped or refined their stance and, for me, I am perfectly okay with that. There is NO perfect candidate.

The rest comes to who can actually compel voters to get off their butts and vote for them. We are clearly seeing Trump has that capability. If Cruz or Carson can do the same, game on. If Walker or Rubio can, great!

So far, though, this is not a race about "trust."

...His finking out of a debate...

Out of a basically union sponsored even with every wannabe in the country....

Trumps candidacy - whatever it is will out and establish itself. To me, the debate is still centered on illegals (you're even seeing that word used more frequently now, BTW). When that stops, to me likely after his first real debate with Cruz, Walker present, then I'll reassess.

In the meantime, I'm not going to fall for this "trust Trump" crap as a diversion from the other candidates' foibles.

“Most of us, who can see the truth, do NOT trust Trump.”

Must be nice feeling you belong to a group of special people superior to the rest.
