On Monday, July 27, the National Executive Board ratified a resolution that removes the national restriction on openly gay adult leaders and employees. Of those present and voting, 79 percent voted in favor of the resolution. The resolution was recommended for ratification by the Executive Committee earlier this month. The resolution is effective immediately.
Chartered organizations will continue to select their adult leaders and religious chartered organizations may continue to use religious beliefs as criteria for selecting adult leaders, including matters of sexuality. This change allows Scouting’s members and parents to select local units, chartered to organizations with similar beliefs, that best meet the needs of their families. This change also respects the right of religious chartered organizations to choose adult volunteer leaders whose beliefs are consistent with their own.
Moving forward, we will continue to focus on reaching and serving youth, helping them grow into good, strong citizens. By focusing on the goals that unite us, we are able to accomplish incredible things for young people and the communities we serve.

Kids will be abused, the BSA will be sued, it will lose all donated monies...and the Left will get what it always wanted.
Well I guess it will be OK if queer scout leaders lead queer scouts under the supervision of a queer priest....but then you wouldn’t want a normal straight kid in that mix!

And can you believe that Robert Gates caps off the end of his letter with “THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF SCOUTING. GOD BLESS THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA.”
I think Gates just took God’s name in vain with that tidbit. I’m thinking God probably won’t blessing the BSA, Gates.
I do not think God will bless the BSA, or the USA for that matter. We are under His judgment, thus the reprobate minds you encounter in top leadership positions. (Romans 1)
For the time being. That will not be allowed to last. "They" will go after that next. And they'll get it. BSA have completely capitulated. The only thing to decide is how quickly they do it.
I was in Girl Scouts with my wife (she was a troop leader) for 10 years some 20+ years ago. There were strict protocols to follow for men. I took my own tent and set it at a suitable distance from the girls. We had the same girls from Brownies to Seniors. Even though we knew some of the girls quite well outside of scouts and their parents fully trusted me with their kids at other times, when we were on any Girl Scout activity we always followed prescribed protocol.
A parent must have absolute trust in the adults that are with their children. It would have been very improper for me to be alone with any of them. I absolutely cannot understand why a parent of a young son would want him to be left alone with an openly homosexual male adult. Any more than the parents would have wanted me to camp out with the GS troop by myself. Common sense for anyone with half a brain who actually gives a damn about their kid.
I find this to be disgusting, but at the same time it was expected.
So....to expect to be disgusted is now the new normal.
