A Florida man was shot to death in front of his family in an apparent road rage incident captured on 911 recordings.
Robert Doyle was driving his truck on Thursday in Citrus County when he apparently called 911 to say another driver was "trying to run me off the road."
Meanwhile, Candelerio Gonzalez, 44, was on the same road. His wife, Cathy Gonzalez, called 911 to report that another motorist was "driving like an idiot."
On the recording, Gonzalez can be heard saying he's going to follow Doyle to his house to get his address. The operator says, "No, no, no."
Doyle seems to realize that Gonzalez intended to follow him to his home. He tells 911: "They're following me to my house ... and the guns are already out,"

A lot of rage and even suicides since The One took office.
Confusing story. CNN
I had a hard time with it, too.
If CNN’s sloppy story is correct, they could have a hard time convicting him.
A lot of us have traded our dreams for survival. So yeah, were pretty pissed and edgy.
Play stupid games...win stupid prizes.
Here’s a much better account of what happened including some autopsy results.
If those are the facts, Doyle needs to go to prison for a long, long time.
Why should we have to pay for this cold-blooded murdering bastard to live on our dime for decades? Hang his @ss and be done with it.
Don’t follow someone to their house in a threatening way and yo won’t get shot.
If one were to get into a road rage incident, the last place I would go would be my house. Police station or if you are already on the line with 911, get directions to a unit.
Both sides lost. He should have walked into the house and called the boot strap nazi police pigs (some on FR refer to the police this way).
Better story \ thanks for the link. Doyle may have messed up when he said he was waiting for him. The idiot picked a fight with the wrong guy — following Doyle home, trying to be a tough man in front of his family. Poor widow and children that had to witness this. Sad really.
Public street.
Shooting someone in the back that is retreating and unarmed will get you murder charges.
Following him home is obviously stupid. But the shooter went way beyond that. His own wife was pleading with him not to shoot... She knew her own husband had gone off the rails...
Yep.
Yeah, looks bad for Doyle.
The irony is both families had the cops on the line the whole time.
Everybody lost that day.
It was the victim’s wife who was heard asking him to put the gun away, either way its pretty damning, along with the other evidence. Bigger problem is the leftist garbage will now pick on this as another seee seeee concealed carry is bad, never talking about all the cases where it saves lives...
You are correct. My mistake.
Not sure about the shooting...but Gonzalez followed Doyle to his home....but when confronted by doyle with a weapon...Gonzalez ws said to be retreating.
I honestly dont know here this one is going to go....if i have a problem with you on the road and you stalk me home....I might react the same way.....but I dont think I would shoot a man in retreat...
I think this is going to hinge on the 9-11 audio...IIRC Mrs Gonzalez said on the 9-11 call Mr Gonzalez was going to kick the drivers ass(Doyle)....that might the mitgating factor
I just dont know....
I do know I have never followed a road rager home....it wouldnt occur to me to do so....as I am looking the break contact and get away, because most of the road rage I have even been involved with was when I was riding a motorcycle.
I've been street riding for 35 years and I have more than one driver try to run my ass over on purpose...acting like I'm in a car that can take the impact of a crash....I never got that...if they would have hit me I might be crippled or dead.
