WASHINGTON Just days after publicly calling the majority leader a liar on the Senate floor, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, has upped the stakes in his war on GOP brass by accusing Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., of spearheading the effort to keep taxpayer funds going to Planned Parenthood.
In a statement that mentioned “gruesome videos of senior officials of Planned Parenthood discussing the selling of body parts of unborn children,” Cruz blasted McConnell for blocking an amendment by Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, to defund the abortion provider.
“These videos are horrifying, and yet it saddens me greatly that the Republican leader led the effort to continue the taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood,” charged Cruz.
On Friday, when he accused McConnell of lying to his face about making a secret deal with Democrats, Cruz had said that was because McConnell had no interest in championing a conservative agenda.
Cruz also said McConnell has led the Senate just as Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., would have, because they both do the bidding of big business and donors rather than serve the will of the people.
“The McConnell-Reid leadership team has no interest in cutting off one penny of funds to Planned Parenthood, which is why leader Mitch McConnell just blocked a vote on defunding Planned Parenthood,” observed Cruz on Monday.
He added, “To the millions of Americans who rallied in November believing if only we got a Republican majority in the Senate something would be different, this was a clarifying and a sad moment.”
Cruz was relentless, continuing, “[T]o see the so-called Republican leadership whip against allowing a vote to defund Planned Parenthood it has the virtue of clarity. It makes clear that the McConnell-Reid leadership team is united in favor of big government spending and debt and power.”

OH MAN this too rich not to share

CBS went after Cruz tonight over his Sunday speech.
“WE have to elect GOP liberals because they are better/a lesser evil than Democrat Liberals no matter what”
-Liberal Freepers
WTH? Does he want to get on the hell express? Seriously? What is he thinking?
Uh......1,000
They said he was trying to "out Trump" Trump.
I HATE the media!
perhaps but cruz seems to have “got it” the way trump gets it.
Mconnel is a demonstrated liar and so where are the demands for his resignation?
Just proves that the GOP-E is the same as the left..both love baby murder. How anyone on the supposed “Right” can look at those two butchers talking on tape about ripping out organs from an innocent baby and still want to fund them, I have no words
Mitch McConnell uses Failure Theater on Planned Parenthood
(I found this on Red State.com)
Today, Senate Majority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) 59% had the chance to actually do something about Planned Parenthood. The Highway Bill was on the floor. That bill is going to pass because too much money rides on it for it to fail. McConnell attached a provision that funds the Export-Import Bank. He could have done the same with Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) 86%s proposal to defund Planned Parenthood. Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) 59% elected to go with corporatist interests and dropped the Planned Parenthood provision. If he had attached the Planned Parenthood provision, Obama would have vetoed it. But the Highway Bill doesnt shut down the government and Democrats would have the stark choice of supporting jobs back home or supporting Planned Paenthood. In the wake of the two videos, Planned Parenthood would have lost.
As I posted on just a couple of hours ago, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) 100% called him out on the Senate floor for the lying crapweasel that he is. Now McConnell is talking tough again:
As I posted on just a couple of hours ago, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) 100% called him out on the Senate floor for the lying crapweasel that he is. Now McConnell is talking tough again:
Senate Majority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) 59% Friday took steps to speed up consideration of legislation to defund Planned Parenthood, a bill his conservative rank-and-file are pushing in the wake of two videos showing organization officials haggling over the sale of fetal body parts.
The Kentucky Republican has not put the measure on the Senate schedule, so it is not clear when it will be considered.
But McConnell announced he would use a rule to allow the measure to move to the Senate floor without first churning through the committee process.
McConnells move comes after he fielded complaints from a group of Senate conservatives who had hoped to make the provision an amendment to a highway funding bill now up for debate.
This is just more Failure Theater. This bill is a stand-alone piece of legislation. It will either be filibustered in the Senate or Obama will veto. Unlike the Highway Bill, it doesnt have to pass. Plus, it is not clear when it will be considered. This is a golden moment to attack Planned Parenthood. McConnells bill is designed to be addressed after the smoke has cleared from the undercover videos when he could have done the same thing today. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) 100% is right. McConnell is no different than Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) 8%.
WOW! Cruz is going nuclear on the GOP slimeballs!
Thank you for another excellent post. I can’t wait to see both Cruz and Trump on Hannity tonight!
Someone on another thread said Ted has ended his Senate career by his actions.
Well, then, let’s do the right thing by this exceptionally courageous man of integrity and send him into the White House.
We need him badly.
I hope Election Night leaves those sorry b######s weeping in a pile on the floor.
Me hopes and wishes that happens when we primary their elitist RINO butts before election day. Thats a clarion call for us all going forward.
That would be such a beautiful thing!
Mitch the Baby-killer.
