Huckabee Correct To Compare Iran With Holocaust

Israel News Agency

Jerusalem, Israel --- July 27, 2015 ... Former Arkansas governor and 2016 GOP presidential candidate Mike Huckabee recently stated that: “The Iran nuclear deal is marching the Israelis to the door of the oven.”

Huckabee added: “What’s ‘ridiculous and sad’ is that President Obama does not take Iran’s repeated threats seriously. For decades, Iranian leaders have pledged to ‘destroy,’ ‘annihilate,’ and ‘wipe Israel off the map’ with a ‘big Holocaust.’ ‘Never again’ will be the policy of my administration and I will stand with our ally Israel to prevent the terrorists in Tehran from achieving their own stated goal of another Holocaust.”

The Israel News Agency completely agrees with the comparison of Nazi Germany with a nuclear enabled terror state – Iran.

The birth of modern day Israel was a direct result of the Holocaust. We, in Israel, live as an extension of the Holocaust and swear as we enter the IDF and other Israeli security forces: “Never Again.”

It is very disappointing that a few in the United States have clearly no idea as to how real the Iranian threat is to Israel.

Jonathan Greenblatt, the new national director of the ADL, issued a statement, calling Huckabee’s comments invoking the Holocaust “completely out of line and unacceptable.”

“Israeli military and security officials have repeatedly said the Obama Administration has been as strong as any other American administration in keeping Israel secure,” Greenblatt wrote.

It is evident that Greenblatt never lived in Israel.
That Greenblatt never served in our security forces.
That Greenblatt’s children were never threatened by Iranian suicide bombers and tons of weapons they attempt to deliver to Hamas and Hezbollah.

We agree with Greenblatt that the US Congress and the US Department of Defense have helped keep Israel secure. The US Congress and the DOD are not the White House.

One must only wonder out loud, has Jonathan Greenblatt been briefed by Israel’s Ministry of Defense? If not, why not? And if Greenblatt has not been briefed, then we place the ignorance of his comments not at his new ADL New York desk but those at the MOD who should know to trust and inform our friends.

Jonathan, the threat is real.

Iran, if not detered from being able to produce nuclear weapons and providing billions of dollars to Hamas and Hezbollah, does constitute a real time threat of Holocaust proportions to Israel.

Israel is counting on the US Congress to do the right thing.
If not, Israel and her neighbors in the Middle East reserve the right to defend themselves from the lethal results of Obama’s appeasment policy.

It was not Huckabee who first said the word Holocaust – it was and is the Iranian goverment:

“We have manufactured missiles that allow us…to replace Israel…with a big holocaust.” – Ayatollah Khamenei’s Iranian Martyr Foundation representative Source: http://www.memritv.org/clip/en/2342.htm

- “It is the mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran to erase Israel from the map of the region.” – Ayatollah Khamenei Source: http://jcpa.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/IransIntent2012b.pdf#page=6

- “If they [Jews] all gather in Israel, it will save us the trouble of going after them worldwide.” – Hassan Nasrallah, Hezbollah leader Source: http://www.dailystar.com.lb/News/Lebanon-News/2002/Oct-23/21779-nasrallah-alleges-christian-zionist-plot.ashx

Huckabee appeared on Fox News today and one of the co-hosts, Geraldo Rivera, stated that he was Jewish and that people do not use the word Holocaust.
Huckabee responded: “Why do we have the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial in Jerusalem, Holocaust museums in New York and Washington?
We have them to never forget. We have them to say never again. I am saying never again!”

When a clear statement of fact and a plain explanation of reality must be called “disturbing language” the fault lies not with the language.

With friends like the Anti-Defamation League, the Jewish people don’t need enemies.

The purpose of the ADL was to protect Jews from being defamed — NOT as the current ADL president is now doing, attacking a prominent pro-Israel American Christian, Mike Huckabee, who, far from defaming Jews, is actually courageously standing up for the Jews of Israel in their need not to be annihilated by Iranian nuclear weapons made possible by Barack Obama and his treaty with the Ayatollahs.

In fact, if anyone deserves to be attacked by the Anti-Defamation League it’s Barack Obama who has spent a large portion of his presidency publicly defaming Israel’s prime minister. Yet never has the ADL been more silent — until now, when it’s suddenly burst out with attacks against the most pro-Jewish public figure in America.

The new head of the ADL, Jonathon Greenblatt, is coming directly from his Obama White House job as Special Assistant.

The MSM never mentions that.

Since 1996 Benjamin Netanyahu has been warning the world that Iran is two years, five years, six months, etc. ... from obtaining a nuclear weapon. And what is it that Netanyahu has and continues to repeatedly call for?

Stronger sanctions against Iran.

And that makes sense to me. Iran, with its oil, 80 million highly educated, young (under 35) population is poised to become an economic powerhouse in the Middle East. This is the shift in paradigms that Netanyahu fears most.

His primary concern is not nuclear. If it was, he’d have done something about it. Netanyahu’s primary concern is the shift in geopolitical economic—and by extension— conventional military supremacy in the Middle East.

Even without the US, the UN, Germany, France, Great Britain, Russia and China may well go forward with the recently signed and ratified agreement and begin to release Iranian money held in escrow and build stronger economic ties with the Iranian people.

I understand how tough this will be, but it may be time for Israel to consider a Plan B that includes its own economic expansion, building both military and economic alliances with other countries in the Middle East and strengthening its alliance with Western countries.

This is about a monumental challenge to the positioning of Israel in the Middle East. I think they’re more than up to meeting this challenge—but must start to focus on the how.

This is not about “ovens”.

And again, this is just my humble, yet researched, opinion.

I have stood with Israel my entire life. Leading up to the ‘67 war as a high schooler I told my classmates they were misguided to look at the numbers of weapons and soldiers, but instead to look to the great Unseen who has committed to Israel. As an adult, I have lived through so many administrations playing games with Israel’s security, while we religious conservatives have stood with Israel. Israel is one of the “planks” in my personal political platform. If they don’t support Israel, I don’t support them. And this has been about God to this point in this post, but let me credit as well the many decent, hard-working, friendly neighbors, friends, and classmates who have shown their love for liberty and their loyalty to their friends. I want to be known as a friend of Israel. God already knows it.

Probably not the best analogy, certainly from a political perspective, but not particularly out of line either.

If Huckabee has ever been right about anything in his life, it is this.
