Why Donald Trump is leading the Republican field
humanevents.com ^ | 7/24/2015 | Brian Darling

There is a simple reason why Donald Trump is leading the race nationally amongst the numerous Republicans vying for the nomination of their party. Voters are despondent, and angry, and looking for somebody different.

Republicans are mad that the Republican controlled Congress has produced nothing. They recognize that the Republican leadership has been ineffectual. They see Donald Trump fighting and fighting hard.

Same seems to be true on the Democratic side where Hillary Clinton has been forced to re-launch her campaign two times, because she is such a boring candidate who does not say anything to excite rank and file Democratic voters.

Donald Trump has tossed aside the Queensbury rules of combat for a political version of a bloody MMA battle. This has caused chaos in the Republican field that will hurt Gov. Jeb Bush more than any other candidate. As we get closer to debates, it is clear that Trump will train his fire on Jeb and it is not going to be pretty. Expect Jeb to have to tap out of this political fight when it becomes a Trump versus Bush debate battle.

While Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is pulling huge crowds and showing that Clinton has a glass jaw, Republicans leaders in Washington have done as much as they can to help put Hillary, or another Democrat, into the White House.

Polls indicate that since the Republican sweep to victory in 2014, President Obama’s popularity is rising. That helps Hillary.

During that time, Republican rage at leadership is also rising. A recent Pew Research Center study found that “the Republican Party’s image has grown more negative over the first half of this year. Currently, 32% have a favorable impression of the Republican Party, while 60% have an unfavorable view.

Cruz' poor polling worries me...it's hard to believe that only 4% of conservatives prefer him.

Deconstructing the poll numbers: b/c of the constant belittling of conservatives by the left....we are sensitive to being portrayed as dumb or uninformed.

That also applies to our standard-bearers----if a conservative candidate makes a dumb move---it makes us look dumb.

Ergo, conservatives recoil from the candidate.

Seriously?

You can’t accept that there is one uniparty running our country and our lives. They all work hand in hand. You need to close your ears and watch with your eyes. There is no small or large door. There is one door.

Because we’re tired of the GOP being the “Bush Party”.

Really?

I would question that. The poll takers forget that some folks will “lie” to them than rather being called “racist.”

Now you understand why “civil disobedience” is growing.

No secret it’s an uphill battle for the GOP.

Without PA, GOP needs a handful of states like VA, CO, IA, NH, or WI, not to mention Ohio. Uphill in all of those too.

This election, a limited strategy like a governor from PA or OH being VP won’t work. It needs to be a ‘wave’ election.

I’m a Cruz fan, myself. That said, Trump is performing an amazing service by exposing the cretins. The notion that he is pissing off all the right people is tickling me more than I can say. So I intend the watch the show.

As far as I’m concerned, Trump will have done his job as a patriot if he:

Keeps Jeb from the nomination

and

Gets the damn wall built.

Speaking of the wall, have you guys seen this? (MAJOR LANGUAGE ALERT)

My son laughed so hard that he put it on his FB page.

That’s a pretty sad list.

They also fought Reagan tooth and nail. Wanted Ford and Bush.

Trump went to Penn. It’s not impossible to think he could take that state.

However, the GOPe can forget winning places like OH and PA in 2016 after the TPA fiasco and support of amnesty. They’ve surrendered a huge chunk of electoral votes before the campaign battle was even joined.

We have to elect a republican if only to fill Supreme Court vacancies.

Like Earl Warren, Harry Blackmun, David Souter, or Anthony Kennedy?

All were appointed by Republican presidents. Blackmun gave us Roe v Wade and the abortion holocaust.

I think the main reason is that he doesn’t run what he says through the usual political filters like all the other candidates. He speaks his mind and stands behind what he says. Career politicians don’t and never will do that. Image is everything to them and they’re too blind to see that their image is tainted.

Trump and Trump’s Chumps are trying to take up all the bandwidth to discredit the right and without regard to the fact this is how we got Bubba Clinton two times.

This article is full of lies and half Truths. Articles like this, that lie and spin to create a false-narrative are evil.

"Polls indicate that since the Republican sweep to victory in 2014, President Obama’s popularity is rising. That helps Hillary."

http://www.gallup.com/poll/116479/barack-obama-presidential-job-approval.aspx

According to Gallup, Obama's approval has been trending down. Hillary is imploding. Hillary will not be president, she won't even be the Democratic nominee.

Additionally, the narrative that the Democrats are happy Trump is growing in strength and popularity is another lie, make no mistake: Trump terrifies all of them.

But the false spin that REALLY gets under my nerves: "There is a simple reason why Donald Trump is leading the race nationally amongst the numerous Republicans vying for the nomination of their party. Voters are despondent, and angry, and looking for somebody different."

Is that true? Cruz, Rubio, Paul, Ben Carson are the strongest, conservative, national-known candidates I've seen in a while. All of them ideologically are closer to me than Trump. Yet I've chosen Trump. In fact 40% of us "whacko birds" have chosen Trump as our first or second choice. Is it REALLY, simply because we are mad at the establishment?

40%

No. That's part of the reason, but no. Frankly, I find the simplicity of his answer insulting. And unlike this political-spinster, I'm going to give my opinion, I'm not going to tell you what "Republicans think;" take it for what it's worth.

I like Trump because:
I believe Trump. He's honest. He says what he means, he means what he says.
He's competent; he's accomplished much in his life, he reeks of success, money and power.
He fights back, and he hits hard. This is cool, seeing someone challenge the establishment, THEY lob stones, Trump returns fire with grenades.
He's not controlled by special interest money.
He sticks to core issues, and argues them with passion.
He's a hard worker.
He knows how to generate headlines.
He's hilarious.
He creates memorable soundbites.

Many businessmen and outsiders have run over the years, none of them have Trump's TRUE secret sauce, (the fact that he's Trump, and no one else IS.)

Trump is a unique phenomena, there is no history book on this-

So why then ARE conservative Republicans, and moderate Republicans choosing Trump, in a competitive field with many good candidates? Because he's Donald Trump, PERIOD. He's a superman, or more specifically he's Iron Man. You know, the guy we love, with the huge ego, big wallet, and brash attitude in the Avengers, played by Robert Downey JR:

"Take off the suit and what are you?"

"Genius, Billionaire, Playboy, Philanthropist."

I think the word politician has finally reached its full potential for negative connotation. Trump keeps on presenting himself as the anti-politician.
