When President Obama arrived in Oklahoma City on Wednesday, a vulgar sight awaited him: About 10 demonstrators across the street from his downtown hotel waving Confederate battle flags as the motorcade pulled up.
Such a greeting of the nation's first black president would have been appalling under any circumstance. It was all the more repugnant because of what it followed -- last month's black-church massacre in South Carolina -- and by what it preceded: Obama's visit to a prison Thursday to showcase the problem with sentencing policies that have filled our prisons with nonviolent offenders who are disproportionately African-American.
"People of color are more likely to be stopped, frisked, questioned, charged, detained," he told the NAACP last week. "African-Americans are more likely to be arrested. They are more likely to be sentenced to more time for the same crime. ... Around one in nine African-American kids has a parent in prison."

Some "idyllic dream". By Friday quitting time I have worked 50 hours and then I work on Saturday. Everything I have I have earned and take great pride in that. Tell black American dads to start becoming fathers and maybe their children will share that "idyllic dream".

Where is the violent crime, and who is dying?
The most violent crime is taking place in Black and Brown communities, and Black and Brown people are dying. That’s why you see Black and Brown youth rousted.
More crimes are committed in these areas, so guess which areas are disproportionately represented in prisons.
Let’s talk about deaths. In Chicago we have between ten and twenty people dying each weekend. Are White people dying? No, it’s Black people.
Should the police cruisers go patrol the quiet streets in the White communities and leave the Black communities alone? Should they just let the death rate climb to between 50 and 100 each weekend in the Black communities?
If they did, they’d be called racists for not caring about those Black Lives That Matter.
Obama is one of the biggest racists I’ve become aware of.

When will we stop pretending that all races are equal, when reality smacks us upside the head every single day with a deluge of evidence that that is not the case? Even the most stubborn mule would have gotten it by now.
Have we gotten to the point yet when we need to admit to ourselves that racism (the acknowledgement that races on the average are different) is actually justified by reality, and that therefore is nothing to be defensive about??

What some call “vulgar” is considered to be “plain-spoken” or “the truth” by others.

If a disproportionate number of people from one group commit crimes and are imprisoned, why is that the majority’s fault? Let such people work hard to clean up their own act. Men commit more crimes than women, even though women are 51% of the pop. Is that somehow women’s fault? Of course not!

I had a chance to do that to Obamas bus when he came campaigning through here in 2008.
Didn’t have a chance to when he came here after being elected. They shut down all lanes of the highway for 20 miles when he came and went.
