Radio Hiroshima had to be renamed Radio Active.

Bad, I know. But I just couldn’t help myself....

OK, one more...Adm. Gatch (page 10) evidently didn't know what he was talking about. There aren't possibly two people who are as different as the Italians and the Japanese.

DeLassus, in his 1972 book The Japanese, says that the main difference between the Italians and the Japanese is that the Italians could produce great individuals but were inferior as a group, while the Japanese can only accomplish great things collectively, as followers of those who are their superiors.

The treatment of Mussolini at the end of his life fit the character of the Italians; the treatment of the Showa Emperor for the last 40+ years of his life after the war ended fit the character of the Japanese.

One big difference is that in 1945 the British people did not know what socialism would do to them (unless they had read Hayak, but they were few). In 2008, the American people knew what socialism had done not just to Britain but to Eastern Europe and many other countries.

Of course, Bammy's 2008 campaign was built on a tissue of lies while Labour's 1945 campaign was frank that they were a socialist party who would implement a socialist agenda.

Wow, Japanese using an Aesop’s fable in an attempt to negotiate away from unconditional surrender.

You’re not bald, by any chance, with a fondness for big cigars, unsurpassed facility with the English language, a penchant for encouraging persistence, and the habit of making a “V” with your fingers, now are you?

No, not bald, cigars make me puke, I have some facility with the English language but it is passed by many, I do encourage persistence until I become bored with it, and have habit of making gestures, but only with a single finger.

Ahh..the infamous resignation of Churchill. The Socialists ousted him. Much to the shame of the British people. A long slow downhi8ll ride upon which they continue to this very day.
Damn the ungrateful twits.

The Japanese leaders are really living in a fantasy world about what terms they might get from us. On the other hand, it's interesting that even back in WWII there were politicians who wanted to sell out and give Japan easy terms. Fortunately, the Democrat Party back then was very different.

It's also interesting the Japanese have smoked out our invasion plan. They are furiously reinforcing Kyushu and are saying publicly there will be a landing in Chiba Prefecture east of Tokyo, which is or will be slated for First Army's landing.
