Chris Christie Scolds Iowa Gun Activist on Record

Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie Saturday scolded a gun-rights activist in a testy exchange at a town hall event in Iowa, saying at one point: "Give me one. One fact. Got one?"

"I'm still waiting for one fact from you, one fact about me being anti-gun," Christie told the man at a community college in Ankeny, Iowa, The Des Moines Register reports. About 120 people attended the event.

The man, who only said that he was a member of the Iowa Gun Owners group, questioned Christie on a 2013 proposal for a statewide gun-owner identification program, according to the Register.

"By the way, I vetoed the ID system," Christie said. He stood a few feet from the man, staring at him. "You're wrong about that, too.

Paulie, you missed the point - TOTALLY. RIGHT NOW, Christie appears to be pro -Second Amendment. To give him credit on this, he has vetoed a number of anti-gun bills presented by the Dems and RINOs.

BUT, the guy was asking him questions on a subject Christie COULD have turned to his advantage and he COULD have won the guy over by clearly pointing out what he did.

HOWEVER, this is TYPICAL Christie behavior. He is a stick of dynamite with a short fuse who attacks ANYONE who questions him. With that temper, even the Mafia wouldn’t want him, let alone Middle America.

This outburst just lost him any serious standing in Iowa.

Do YOU want such an uncontrolled hothead sitting in Washington? I fon’t think so.

I seem to recall a story from a few years ago about someone moving his property, and having stopped temporarily in NJ, was arrested for having illegal guns, and was facing a long prison sentence. Does anyone else recall this, or am I just mixed up?

“I’ll have to assume he respects the Constitution.”

Chris Christy does not.
Read further below your post for many links and info on same.
I now cannot use the nearby title range on the NJ side of the border because of one of the 11 anti-second amendment bills he proudly signed into law.

Chris, Lindsey and Jeb are wasting their time and if any are ever nominated there will be far more than 4M conservatives that do not show up to vote this time.

Actually, if the pubbie establishment steals the nomination, I will show up to the polls, but to vote for the dem. The reason being that if they do it again, the only way that things will change is after the dems collapse society.

New Jersey is the most anti Second Amendment state there is. Christie has done nothing to rectify that. How about honoring concealed carry permits from other states? That could probably be done by the executive branch. I bet it won’t ever happen on his watch.

...almost certainly a plant. Christie knows that he hasn’t made many friends who support gun rights. Now we read about it.

But sorry Christie, way too little, and way too late.

RIGHT NOW, Christie appears to be pro -Second Amendment.

Yep, and as soon as he is nominated he'll get more "moderate" and were he ever to be elected he'd "revisit" his views and support every gun control scheme Bloomberg et al can come up with.

Christie's position on the Second Amendment as a candidate now means about as much as President Obama's position on same sex marriage before he was elected.

Christie will say whatever he thinks will get him elected, and if he succeeds go right back to doing what he has been doing in New Jersey.

Are you one of the "conservatives that sat home thereby helping elect Obama? Twice?

He has vetoed some egregious gun restrictions, issued some pardons of people caught up in this state’s ongoing legislative abridgement of 2A rights but during his 5+ years in office has done little to those anti 2A lawyers who run the state. I am glad he was twice elected rather than another effing left wing socialist anarchist but he is far from a “stalwart” or a true leader on bringing the rational citizens of NJ much further along on 2A issues.

There are many people I know that think like you, the idea being we’re past the tipping point so we might as well bring it on.

No, I’m one of the ones who went door to door for Reagan in 1976 and have two things no member of the Romney family has: a DD214 and a cancelled check to the Reagan campaign.

....”the only way that things will change is after the dems collapse society”....

Your thoughts on this are not unknown among others I’ve met along the way.....though i do think this election we “might” have a chance.....I’ve often wondered if the demorats know it’s going to collapse and want us in power when this happens. Then they can come along the next election and frame the entire set up.

It’s a tricky election IMO.
