Trump - Sanders would present a pretty stark choice as would Cruz - Sanders without mixing in all the faux feminism that obscures everything. Cruz would not be so obviously humiliating of The Woman, more like a raised eyebrow and a half smile, I think.

A lot of people here will be done...hopefully that doesn’t happen. But in any case, Obama hasn’t been able to do anything but send gun sales soaring every time he opens his mouth on the issue. So I wouldn’t worry too much about Trump even if he were stupid enough to come out anti-gun (but he is not stupid, not by a long-shot).
Trump is strongly for the 2nd Amendment, every time he is asked about guns. Which type of guns a character like Dylann Roof or James Eagan Homes should be allowed to buy is a separate issue.
I can’t get past the fact that Trump has completely misdiagnosed the cause of the 2008 financial crash.
For me, that’s a major deal killer.
If you let them in, they would vacuum your carpets with your old vacuum, then re-vacuum with theirs and show you how much dirt your old vacuum was leaving behind and how much better their high-dollar vacuum is than yours.
If you still weren't convinced, they'd even vacuum your bedspread and mattress and gross you out by showing you how much dead skin and such you were sleeping in that's now inside their high-dollar vacuum.
And even if you didn't buy their machine, though many usually did, your house got vacuumed and they left you in better shape than you were before they showed up.
Trump is like one of those guys. He came to the door and has done a free demo to prove the worth of what he's selling.
And, even if we don't buy what he's selling, he still cleaned the carpets for free and now we're in better shape simply for his having been here.
Now people's curiosity and interest are very high, since what he's selling is both effective and clearly better than what we've got now.
Bottom line? People are ready to buy.
That's how it's done the old-fashioned way, with a demonstration to show it's not snake oil.

Actually what has surprised me is how many on our side blame the Democrats for the crash, when it was OBVIOUS, at the time, that banks were making loans that could never be paid back and Bush’s people were happy to go along as the economy seemed to be growing, due to that infusion of fake money. In other words, what was going on then was an extra $500B to $1T of deficit spending, but without it showing up on government books (until the crash).
It was so OBVIOUS to me that I shorted a bunch of financials and was able to buy my wife a nice car, due to the crash (but I admit, it was nerve racking when all of the ‘experts’ were saying everything was just fine).
Democrats fear Trump I believe.

The left has definitely mobilized their troops vs. Trump.

I think that Trump will win the nomination and Cruz the VP. Then, if they win, after a few years Trump will step down letting Cruz become President. Win win for everyone. :)
Trump and his counsel need to start considering how they are going to field the “big bad Trump kicked granny out of her house” eminent domain questions. The press will pounce on that.
I made the same arguments to FReepers about McCain and Romney.
Look, the whole idea of the people running our country is to put up a straw man for Hillary to knock down in the general election. Just like they picked McCain “for us” in 2008.
I struggled with this for a decade, but I will no longer vote the lesser evil. If I cannot vote FOR someone, if the candidate does not meet my minimum standards for acceptability and competence, I will not vote for them.
So far, Cruz, Walker, Trump and possibly Fiorina meet those standards. The rest do not.
for me, the one part of the 2008 crash that seems explainable is the “crash” in the real estate bubble. that bubble was a bipartisan creation. the Dems and the Bush administration BOTH promoted easy loans to unqualified, low income homebuyers. this helped create a price bubble that couldn’t be sustained.
google Bush, Rove and home ownership, and you’ll see how they were complicit along with Dems. Eg this Bush law for paying down payments for poor people:
