Groveling by any other name is groveling. It reads like an apology to me. A walk-back. A sorry-to-offend. A not-all-muslims-bad unnecessary BS statement.
All he should have said was: “What do you want me to say, he’s a Muslim saint?”
Are you kidding me? This is one of the best non-apology apologies I’ve seen in a while.
