GOP Strategists Plot to Ban Donald Trump From Debates
Gateway Pundit ^ | July 23,2015 | Jim Hoft

One idea that came up was to urge three leading candidates — Jeb Bush, the former Florida governor; Mr. Walker; and Senator Marco Rubio of Florida — to band together and state that they would not participate in any debate in which Mr. Trump was present, using his refusal to rule out a third-party bid as a pretext for taking such a hard line.

The thinking, according to a Republican involved in the conversations, was that the lesser-funded prospects who have been eclipsed by Mr. Trump would follow suit, and the TV networks airing the debates would be forced to bar Mr. Trump in order to have a full complement of candidates.

Oh God let this be true! Please, please, please!

C’mon gop. Sign your own death warrant. That mean ol’ Donald is doesn’t deserve a debate. He’s not presidential. Kick him out of the debates. Do it now. I dare ya.

..even better...they can play "good cop bad cop" on the leftie moderator.

I would rather they play "bad cop even badder (and more than a little psychotic) cop" on the moderator. But your way is good, too.

— Donald Trump says the chances that he will launch a third-party White House run will “absolutely” increase if the Republican National Committee is unfair to him during the 2016 primary season.

this was Donnies Plan all along!

Can’t you just see Trump buying an hour of TV time, at the same time the debate is on. Letting a question be asked and then he gives his answer. It would drive them up the wall and he’d get more viewers than the “official” debate does.

Like he’s going to let that happen. They have no grounds.

If they deny him, they’ll get 10% of Republicans tuning in.

I’d be interested in seeing all the people in the debate, but I’d not turn it on if they pulled this stunt.

Here is the text of the email I sent to the Republican Party yesterday. For anyone else who would like to send them an email, the address is ecampaign@gop.com

The email reads:

Just thought it would be fair to give you all a reading on how things are in my small, but deep red Republican family.

Donald Trump, for all his arrogance and brash public demeanor, speaks the truth on just about every topic I have heard him speak.

If he is not the nominee, I think my wife and I will just stay home and watch the returns on election night.

Thanks to our spineless Congress, which at last count is in Republican hands, one of the greatest threats to our Republic that we have had in our 230+ history has been allowed free reign to systematically ‘transform’ our nation with absolutely no substantial opposition.

We have a Communist in the White House, and the Grand Old Party parties on, thinking that We the People are too stupid to notice.

If you think I am one of the ‘crazies’ that Mr. McCain has alluded to, you might want to do a deep dive into some of the surveys and polls that the professional politicians allow to shape their every move, and get educated on what people outside the swamp really think.

And I get closer and closer and closer to not voting once again for a stinking RINO candidate for president. Didn’t vote for the RINO from Taxsachuttus and will not vote for one in this case. Will simply skip the prez vote and move on down the ballot. Planning on skipping the fool that is my local congress rep, Mike Rogers of Alabama. Am as fed up with the fool as I am the RINOS.

The GOP establishment would definitely rather have Hillary as president than a political outsider like Trump who is a loose canon on deck to them. They know Hillary will operate within the accepted boundaries of the Uniparty system and that they will still get their share of the spoils.

"he can easily pull 20 percent"

He'll pull 40% and win 40 states in a plurality.

Trump as third party or GOP nominee will pull a lot of disaffected Dem votes also.

100% of his policy positions come from his donors.

That's just the way it is.

Misleading headline. Someone threw out an idea and everyone rejected it.

So who was it? This is what we need to know. Was Karl f'n (R)ove in town? The GOPe is literally circling the drain and we must jump on every chance to flush it.

Gateway Pundit botched this story it seems, and it is light on details ...

Their link to the The New York Times inexplicably resolves literally to this ...

http://fear remains in some of the campaigns that Mr. Trump will target their candidates in the lead up to the debate — or at the event itself.

ROTFL! Yeah, that'll work.

So Gateway Pundit hasn't backed up their allegation of "BREAKING: GOP Strategists Plot to Ban Donald Trump From Debates". Amateur hour.

Trump will really snooker the (R)epublicrats by continuing to act like a loose cannon, playing the media like a fiddle and drum up massive anticipation for the first debate when he will walk in tall and polished and acting Presidential and win the nomination right there as millions see it for themselves while the GOPe foots the bill.

There could be no better outcome than beating the (R)ats this way, on their own dime.

Reagan was the outlier. The GOP really was never always conservative otherwise, except maybe Goldwater & Nixon (in comparison).

“This could be good. It would be the official demise of the GOPe”

Maybe, but only after losing the 2016 election. If the GOP-e backstab him, he will go 3rd party for sure, fully knowing Hillary is the next President.

The Republican Party wasn’t conservative at its inception, and has only been successfully conservative in the 1920s and the 1980s (add GW Bush if you like, the point stands).
