Donald Trump jumps the shark
Washington Times ^ | July 21 2015 | Shawn Steel

Posted on 07/22/2015 9:20:04 PM PDT by WilliamIII

Donald Trump knows how to hit his cue.

On Friday, the Huffington Post announced that it would no longer cover Mr. Trump as part of its 2016 GOP presidential primary coverage. Instead, it was moving him to the entertainment section.

“Trump’s campaign is a sideshow,” the liberal news outlet said. “We won’t take the bait. If you are interested in what The Donald has to say, you’ll find it next to our stories on the Kardashians and The Bachelorette.”

The following day, the reality TV star jumped the shark with another outlandish statement designed to attract media attention — an attack on Sen. John McCain’s war heroism. “He’s not a war hero,” Mr. Trump said. “He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.”

The incident has sparked universal outrage. It shouldn’t. Trump for President is a midsummer special that fills the void while serious presidential contenders are on summer hiatus. The next president is busy raising money and building a grass-roots operation, not seeking another headline.

Mr. Trump’s campaign strategy is built on provoking the next headline by offending. It constantly requires him to outdo himself. Last week, it was immigrants. This week, it’s war heroes. Next week, single mothers. By the fall, babies, puppies and the ghost of Ronald Reagan.

“What Mr. Trump is offering is not conservatism, it is Trump-ism — a toxic mix of demagoguery and nonsense,” Gov. Rick Perry said of the reality TV star masquerading as a GOP candidate.

I heard. Have you seen it?

Huffington used to be a conservative, then she crossed over to the left. Ann Coulter used to be a conservative, and then she went all wobbly.

He didn’t jump the shark-he is the shark.

That’s okay.

Maybe the LIVs will get curious about him now.

Sharknado3 was better than Sharknado2 but not as good as Sharknado1.

Trump is the only one that can save America.

I’ve never seen anyone like him ever. Trump is the only one that figured out that illegals and China are the 2 main problems hurting America. all the others running are instead voting for Obamatrade which empowers Obama, empowers China and Obamatrade allows unlimited immigration and amnesty .

I don’t know why I’m surprised he is this good . I should have known as he is a great businessman like the ones who built this country Ford, Edison etc. I had lost ALL Hope. Now my only hope is that Trump wins

The low information crowd only reads entertainment sections. They're actually giving Trump a boost.

Bluto: “Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!”
Otter: “Germans?”
Boon: “Forget it. He’s rolling.”

Trump is like a chimpanzee dressed in a turtleneck sweater, wearing a Derby hat and smoking a cigar, on roller skates skating backwards, hands behind his back, occasionally flipping off the crowd.
Just enjoy the show while it lasts because sooner than later he’s going to lose interest in the public arena and go back to what he was doing. Making money I suppose and telling Linda Graham to GTH.

I feel for anybody supporting Rick Perry.

Watching him trip over all of those “big words” somebody wrote for him when he condemned Trump today was pretty embarrassing.

The guy appears to be slow, a low IQ type.

While Trump is getting lots of good press and getting the good message out, he is not the only, or the first to discuss immigration or China:

Ted Cruz, telling congress to vote against the lawless Obama and his Amnesty (Sept. 2014):

And on China, Ted Cruz (Sept., 2013):

“And then in response…we should respond directly with respect to Russia by immediately reinstating the anti-ballistic missile stations in Eastern Europe that at the beginning of the Obama administration they canceled in an effort to appease Russia,” Cruz said. “And with respect to China, we should immediately approve the sale of F-16s to Taiwan that the administration canceled in order appease China.”

Echoing former President Ronald Reagan, Cruz said he favors “peace through strength.”

“Bullies and tyrants don’t respect weakness or appeasement; in the Arab world, appeasement only encourages more violence; I am a big believer of peace through strength,” he said. “We should understand that we don’t deal with nations like Russia and China by embracing arm and arm, and signing Kumbaya. The one thing Russia and China understand and respect is strength.”

If Trump were smarter I’d like him. But I’m only attracted to men who can think and articulate without being boorish or sophomoric. Trump appeals to the little people. Good for them if it helps them feel like they are participating.

This TTP/TPA Obama trade deal is a trojan horse. It’s disguised as “free trade” What It really allows is for Obama to flood the USA with anunlimited number of 3rd world immigrants...
