Ever since Donald Trump claimed Saturday that Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) isnt a war hero -- or, maybe, is one only because he was captured in Vietnam -- cable networks have covered those remarks without pause.
The national media are obsessed with Trump, who has ridden the feedback loop of press attention to the top of the Republican presidential primary polls. Trumps comments last month about Mexican immigrants being rapists drew extensive coverage as well. But the McCain swipe seemed to send TV bookers into a unique frenzy.
Over four days, The Huffington Post found 162 people -- rival presidential candidates, other politicians, strategists, analysts, journalists and former prisoners of war -- have been asked to offer their take on Trumps comment and/or how it will affect the 2016 primary.
Not included in the list is White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest, whose take on the fracas was broadcast when he delivered it during his daily briefing. Nor are MSNBC viewers, who were polled on Monday as to whether the McCain comments made Trump unpresidential.
All told, 20 current and former lawmakers were asked to address L'Affaire Trump. Trump himself called in to ABCs This Week and Fox & Friends to respond, as well as commenting on camera on Fox News The OReilly Factor. McCain went on air too, as did two of his children.

My recollection is that RINO McCain and his limp wristed political consultants and advisers ALL silenced and sabotaged Palin for the sake of whatever RINOs believe in. Palin was and is a winner who happened to get paired with a professional loser who was intent upon snatching RINO defeat from the jaws of Conservative victory.

Billions of dollars make your hide thicker.
Me too.
The media stupidly seem not to realize THEY are Trump’s target.
They’re like Steve Martin’s “Jerk” character getting shot at at the gas station.
I’ve begun to remind folks who their fellow travelers are, if they despise Trump.
The list is long, and it includes folks on both sides of the isle.
Leftists, newpapers (but then I repeat myself), worst Liberal players ever, the GOPe, McCain...
It’s a hoot...
And he didn’t pay a penny for the coverage. Bad publicity is always better than none
It took me a while too but that’s his message
Trump Derangement Disorder is a litmus test.
First, F McCain for his backstabbing as a Republican.
The press want to groom the results in favor of Democrats, we all know that.
I love that Trump answers back.
Watching the MSM talking heads and editorials go crazy over Trump’s comments on McCain has been great sport. The MSM heads are exploding and their dialog becomes more unhinged. This is excellent. Go, Mr. Trump!
I’m still trying to figure out if I have TDD or others do. LOL
This is a strange situation.
I do like your graphic, and I have to admit his enemies read like a who’s who of the enemies of Conservatism.
It’s a defining moment to be sure. People don’t generally out themselves, but they’re sure willing right now.
Time to take down some names and check them twice just before Christmas.
Public arena...
That’s cause TRUMP will not Quit and he does not need there MONEY.
Man, this stuff is tiring. Maybe I should take up drinking. :P
162 talking heads... all that CO2 contributing to global warming... or is it global cooling this week?? I forget ... either way, I have a solution.
Why don’t they hold their breath for, oh, I dunno... maybe two hours? LEAD the way. Set the example!!! “Make a difference!” Think of the polar bears they’d save.
“If it saves just ONE life....”
