The father of a 32-year-old Pleasanton woman who was fatally shot while walking along San Francisco's Pier 14 wants Congress to reform laws that allowed her alleged killer to remain in the United States despite being deported several times.
Addressing the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday, Jim Steinle said he and his family support legislation that would close some legal loopholes that currently allow local authorities to decide if they will cooperate with federal immigration authorities.
Steinle's daughter, Kathryn, was killed on July 1 as the pair strolled at the Embarcadero. The duo were “walking arm-in-arm” relishing a “wonderful day together," Jim Steinle recalled.

“Immigration reform” is liberal code-speak for “amnesty” and I doubt like hell that Jennifer’s father supports amnesty and open borders.

Jim Steinle wants the immigration laws including those of deportation of illegal aliens already on the books to be enforced..
We don’t need ANY immigration reform we need to enforce current laws and we’d be fine.
Building a border defense zone would eliminate 90% of crossings on the southern border. Fence, sensors and mine fields would be a start.
If my finger was on this button, I would send every illegal back, set up a military border, and halt legal immigration from Muslim countries. And, I would start with the aliens in the WH.
I’d hit that button with a framing hammer.
I thought Mr. and Mrs. Steinle were slated to appeal to the Congress in September.
One of the few times I watch BOR, he promised to send them to DC after the August recess, all expenses paid.
Or is this different?
The Republicans in Congress are pushing “Kate’s Law” and not backing away from Amnesty for illegals in general.
This is an emotional diversionary Karl Rove type issue to be used against Obama and help push the GOP Establishment in 2016.
Obama could veto such a law or under political pressure sign it....either way the GOPe get their emotional diversion from their support for Amnesty for illegals.
But as with all symbolic diversionary emotional laws that skirt the big issue (Amnesty and Open Borders) the courts have the final say and who knows as with abortion laws and SB 1070 in Arizona a few years back the judiciary may gut this law or destroy it.
But the Republicans get their political mileage out of it......

Kate’s Law—let’s all get behind it!!!
No problem with it but more importantly lets all get behind stopping Amnesty for illegal immigrants and thoroughly securing our nations borders.
Senator Grassley gets to cry his tears over this case, but not get behind the bigger issue of NO AMNESTY FOR ILLEGALS AND AN AIR TIGHT SECURE SOUTHERN BORDER.......

None of these suits deserve the power of office that they hold . There positions should all be appointed , by a US Supreme military commander . The right guy could make a huge difference . We the people had our shot , and we are blowing it , to the point of losing our country forever .

If the laws had been enforced his daughter would still be alive. If they are ignored in the future, some other family will suffer.
Until Trump stumbled into the picture, the only “debate” were were having was on “immigration reform”.
People are starting to figure out the Uniparty, their clients and their interests.
They don’t want “immigration reform”. They want more “undocumented immigrants”.
Smart move by THE LEFT and totally in character.
The term “Immigration Reform” is now TOXIC, referring to letting millions of felons become voting Americans.
So now “Immigration Reform” means telling cities (and states) to SHOVE IT when they harbor illegals.
If Republicans don’t like that slight-of-hand, they are MORE THAN WELCOME to buy up media outlets to prevent (or reverse) it.
...but they will not.
