So let’s draft Sarah Palin to run as a fourth party nominee and thus reduce Idaho to a battleground state, since that’ll be the only contestable turf in the country.

He’s doing conservatives good now, but no one can be faulted for thinking he’ll turn on us.

Trump keeps going the way he is and the Republicans will be the third party.

But I don't think Trump will run third party. Not out of any sense of decency, he just doesn't want to run. That closeness with the Clintons and Trump's willingness to cast all aside to cash in on a deal might be incentive enough for him to do this.

What is the liklihood if that? Zero? Twice zero?

Well, how many Democrat or more liberal voters would vote for Trump? Theoretically a 3rd party or independent candidate can win election, but so many people automatically vote for one of the two major parties.
Perot got 19% of the vote against Bill Clinton. Clinton got only 43% of the vote but won overwhelmingly in the electoral vote because he carried a number of individual states in the electoral college even though he got less than 50% of the vote in those states.

No votes for Jeb in my household, no matter the opponent. I’m staying out of the Bushes, permanently.

How many conservatives were fooled by and the list includes Rubio, Walker et al. Walker at least is a proven commodity at the governance level. Trump is a bored billionaire with too much time on his hands.

It sounds to me the GOP Elite is doing anything they can to make Trump unappealing.
The internal polls must show Trump is very appealing, while the GOP Elite candidates are sucking air.

If Trump is not the nominee then I think a third-party run is very likely.

And Perot got maybe 8% or 9% his second go round.....

Well, how many Democrat or more liberal voters would vote for Trump? What would be their incentive for doing so when Hillary is sitting there awaiting coronation?
