U.S. 'disturbed' by Iranian leader's criticism after deal

DUBAI, (Reuters) - The United States said on Tuesday it was very disturbed by anti-U.S. hostility voiced by Iran's top leader after a nuclear deal, as both countries' top diplomats sought to calm opposition to the accord from political hardliners at home.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said a speech by Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on Saturday vowing to defy American policies in the region despite a deal with world powers over Tehran's nuclear programme was "very troubling".

"I don't know how to interpret it at this point in time, except to take it at face value, that that's his policy," he said in the interview with Saudi-owned Al Arabiya television.

"But I do know that often comments are made publicly and things can evolve that are different. If it is the policy, it's very disturbing, it's very troubling," he added.

Ayatollah Khamenei, the highest authority in Iran, told supporters on Saturday that U.S. policies in the region were "180 degrees" opposed to Iran's, in a Tehran speech punctuated by chants of "Death to America" and "Death to Israel".

Under the accord reached in Vienna last week, Iran will be subjected to long-term curbs on a nuclear programme that the West suspected was aimed at creating an atomic bomb but which Tehran says is peaceful. In return U.S., European Union and U.N. sanctions on Iran will be lifted. The deal was signed by the United States, Britain, China, France, Germany and Russia.

In the case of Iran, the deal must win final approval from the National Security Council and ultimately Khamenei, who has so far withheld final judgement while saying the text must still be scrutinised..................yet Obama says it's done deal!

So we’re left to assume Kerry wasn’t ‘troubled’ at all by the ‘death to America’ chants coming form the Iranians all through the negotiations for this ridiculous ‘treaty’.

What the leaders of Iran need to understand is that Obama is in charge and they will do what he says. Obama is the One! They will learn.

U.S. ‘disturbed’ by Iranian leader’s criticism after deal

Sure they are. Disturbed must have a different, opposite meaning to these folks.

No you’re not going to get out of this disastrous deal Kerry. Iran was making these threats all during the negotiations. You have no excuse.

If someone says they want to kill you, then asks for your gun, maybe you shouldn’t hand it to them. This administration is embarrassingly deficient in the most basic capacity to apply reason. You couldn’t make this stuff up.

The towelheads yelled “Death to America” and “Death to Israel” before the agreement, and after the agreement. They will keep doing it because they hate the USA and Israel. 0 gave them all that they wanted and got nothing in return.

Because he hates the USA and Israel.

Well, DUH.

No amount of well-intended advice to the contrary had much hope of being heard by the Current Regime now squatting in the White, er, Rainbow Hut.

Now that they have wandered into the tripwire, the strategy is to get a rubber-stamp approval from the UN Security Council, and come back to club the US Senate and House of Representatives over the heads with it.

Doesn’t untrip the wire. Events are already in motion that may well prove to be irreversible, and bring on the very catastrophe that this joke of a treaty was supposed to avert.

Iran cannot, and never shall be, our ally in any fight with ISIS, and the rest of the Sunni Islamic world cannot trust the US in any future negotiations or confrontations.

What happened there, Swiftboat John? Is being “deeply disturbed” kinda like having false memories (aka lies) of Christmas in Cambodia “seared...SEARED” into your memory?

Kerry is a worthless commie POS!

Can someone tell me the difference between making a deal with Iran about nukes and making a deal with ISIS about nukes?
