During a recent Republican presidential forum, Donald Trump disparaged Senator John McCain’s war record, claiming that McCain is “not a war hero. He’s a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.”
And the Internet responded, surfacing a photo that some are calling the perfect comeback and reminder of McCain’s service to his country.

No, I can’t imagine the reading you seem to give it. I don’t like McCain, but he was refusing favors of the enemy and remaining loyal to his men. And probably refusing to make propaganda statements for the NVN.

Both Dems & Pubs are financed and supported by both Wall Street and the Chamber of Commerce. This keeps both of their pockets full along with a hefty retirement.
Trump on the other hand has been successful on Main Street.
IOW’s his business savvy is in the brick and mortar or real business with workers, P&L's and heavy govt regulations.
Trumps speaking truth scares them because it would upset their apple cart.
IOW’s it would bust their coalition.
It wouldn't be hard to connect all of these dots and get most of your questions answered. This would be a good place to start.

My understanding is that he can no longer raise his hands above shoulder level due to torture when he was hoisted and suspended by his hands -- while they were tied behind him.
While not word for word, that was basically my take on it also.
It’s too bad most Conservatives don’t get that. Trump does get it. He knows and understands what a position of strength means. Business and Politics is won from positions of strength. Truth and numbers do matter.
The simple fact is that it’s perfectly possible for a “war hero” to become a scumbag later on.
I seem to recall a sergeant who was awarded the Medal of Honor, but years later became a criminal.
But the best example would be that of Benedict Arnold. If not for his heroic acts and leadership at the Battle of Lake Champlain, the Revolution most likely would have failed. But we all know what happened later on.

Find out about McCain's record (with the warts left in) and how his Daddy managed to single him out for accolades even though he was deadlier to our side than the enemy.
Add his record of helping the other side in all things evil and destructive to our once great nation and he deserves every bit of bad ink he gets. Sometimes those who served have not lived up to being honorable or deserving of accolades and extra respect - did you know that Kerry was in Viet Nam?
