In response to the attack on Marines in Tennessee, Gov. Mary Fallin has authorized Oklahoma military officials to arm full-time personnel at facilities similar to the ones that were attacked on Thursday.
On Thursday, four Marines were killed at a Naval Reserve center when a gunman opened fire on the facility.
On Friday, Gov. Fallin issued an executive order that allows Maj. Gen. Robbie Asher to arm certain full-time personnel in military installations throughout Oklahoma.
“Four unarmed Marines were killed in what appears to be a domestic terrorist attack,” Gov. Fallin said. “It is painful enough when we lose members of our armed forces when they are sent in harm’s way, but it is unfathomable that they should be vulnerable for attack in our own communities. For that reason, I want to make sure that our National Guardsmen are authorized to arm themselves at our military facilities.”
The personnel may be armed with weapons that “adequately provide for security of the facilities and their occupants.”
Those facilities include military recruiting offices.
“This attack is a horrible tragedy for our country and especially those in the State of Tennessee,” she said. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends of those who were killed.”

this could get real interesting legally from a state v federal viewpoint. i am speaking from Colorado law as a chp holder though i think some of what i am saying is federal law. apparently recruiting centers, wherever they are, are federal property. so ccw is not allowed and open carry is not allowed. in fact weapons on the premise are not allowed. i suspect national guard recruiting centers are state property so state laws apply meaning i could ccw there. the governors can order their national guard soldiers be armed but they still couldn’t carry on federal property. it would be very interesting if they were colocated.
It’s pure split the baby bulllshit that will do nothing but drive muslims to unarmed facilities.
All or nothing. All being the only smart option.
The military's bosses in D.C. are importing the enemy right in to America's cities and towns. If it's not illegals from Mexico, Salvador, Columbia or Communist China, it's legal imports from Somalia, Iran, Palestinians and every Muslim country on the planet.
Even the local greedy marts selling slurpees and beef jerky are armed up for protection.
Governor Fallon’s order seems to apply to NG facilities, not federal military facilities, correct me if I’m wrong.
The story is vague but if I were a governor I would have state military and or law enforcement around every recruiting station since the Pentagon won’t allow recruiters to be armed and if Obama’s Administration objects, so what.
I’m looking for real resistance that offends Washington, not symbolic acts to apply to state facilities that don’t appear to be targets yet, but I admit could be.....
If our congress critters and their staff have armed protection...so should ANY military person!!!
I believe Gov. Fallin ordered state & federal flags to be lowered to half staff.

In this matter, half measures are the same as no measures.
Someone please explain to me how the post office is a special area where no firearms can go.
