Donald Trump says John McCain should apologise instead of him

Real-estate magnate Donald Trump isn’t backing down amid a firestorm over his remarks panning Sen. John McCain’s (R-Arizona) war record.

Trump drew widespread criticism on Saturday after he said McCain is “not a war hero” before reversing himself on the claim. During the Vietnam War, McCain was shot down and held prisoner for more than five years.

Almost all of Trump’s fellow Republican presidential candidates fiercely criticised Trump for the comment and some veteran political observers said he needs to apologise.

But Trump believes they have it backwards: On “Fox & Friends” Sunday morning, Trump said McCain should apologise to his supporters for calling them “crazies.”

“A week ago, I had thousands of people in Phoenix, Arizona, talking about the whole, horrible situation with illegal immigration,” Trump said. “We had thousands and thousands of people. And he called them ‘crazies.’ He insulted them. He should apologise to them, by the way. He insulted them and then I insulted back.”

Trump had the same message for McCain on ABC’s “This Week.” According to a transcript, he said: “We had thousands of people and he said they’re all crazies. He called them crazies. And frankly, I think he owes them an apology.”

The first sentence is a lie. Trump didn’t “pan” McCain’s war record. If he had he would have said “McCain got 28 medals for flying 20 hours. When your daddy and your grandpa are admirals you can do pretty much anything you want. And there’s a lot that he did that I’m going to talk about in the near future.” That would scare McCain so bad that he would come out in support of Trump.

Good for Trump. Not hiding, not denying, and now putting up with BS. Regardless of politics on individual issues, this is what we need for president. A person of character, not owned by anyone, not playing PC and political games.

Yeah, he’d already “lost” three aircraft when he was shot down. I’d say that having him a POW saved the Navy a bunch more losses. He was known as a lousy pilot, but his relatives in high places kept him flying. McCain is not a patriot, and that has nothing to do with his military service. Being a POW doesn’t entitle one to be a worthless turd for the rest of your life.

Trump can win if the people hold on. I think this media onslaught is all about illegal immigration and the rich and powerful want their way and are used to paying off politicians and MSM to get it.

If they get rid of Trump I expect Cruz will be next...and then get ready for jebillary.

Hey hosey, get over yourself. It is the primary races. You are free to support who you want, as others are free to support who they want. In the end if we need to come together to vote for the person who wins. Hopefully, it’ll be one of the people on my short list, of which Trump is the first on that list. It is the American way. I won’t vote for the GOPe picks. Not sure if I will stay home or vote for........
