And once he was shot down injured captured tortured ...he was allowed to come back to his home in the USA....and HE SAID NO. That is a HERO. And the rest of those men who were shot down and captured and tortured FOR YEARS...ARE HEROS.

The fact that he is weak on many important political points should be the target, not his getting shot at flying over North Vietnam at the same exact time Trump was partying in college.

And you can bet the dems are making a nice video about that.

John McCain's merely having been captured does not, automatically, make him a war hero.

However, his refusal to accept the enemy's special treatment, and go home--and his endurance of torture for five years, as a result of that--does make him a war hero, in my opinion.
