Why would the statement disqualify Trump?

For the same reason Franken’s statement disqualified him - because a President should not be disparaging POWs. Under any circumstances.

Trump was not speaking only of John McCain. He is fair game. But Trump’s statement impuned ALL of those soldiers who were POWs. Having POWs taken is a part of war. It happens. A soldier is not to be honored just because he was a POW, but because he SERVED, something that, as far as I know, Mr. Trump has never done.

It disqualifies Trump because people who don’t like Trump want him disqualified.

The alternative to Trump is GOPe or Hillary, period. I’d rather have Trump, warts and all, then the dreary, predictable path to socialism and bondage that both of those candidates represent.

In a perfect world I’d want Cruz, and maybe Trump can act as a snowplow for Cruz and put him in the White House, but I fear that Cruz would be ruled ineligible due to his birth in Canada. Just imagine this SCOTUS ruling on that.

Trump may be the only option out there. Anyone else besides the legally risky Cruz means Obamacare implemented and cemented, Common Core implemented and cemented, and most importantly, an influx of dependent big government voters so vast that the we can never recover.
