Listening to Trump I believe he meant to say that the men who did not get captured are every bit the heroes attributed to McCain but they do not get the credit like McCain because they did not get captured. He had a hard time verbalizing it due to the badgering of Luntz repeating “He’s a war hero” over and over.

He’s using the occasion to pivot pretty good about taking care of vets while highlighting how McCain is doing the opposite as Senator.

Luntz is anything but objective. Many of his so-called poll results and 'audiences' are suspect. FoxNews probably provides him with a hefty paycheck, so he 'leans' results to what they want.

And the important take away from the whole thing was that after all of Trumps’ remarks he left the stage to a standing ovation. No booing from anybody. So this McStain thing is a non event.
