As neighbors and friends tried to understand why a lone gunman launched two brazen attacks on military sites that left four Marines dead, investigators searched for terrorist ties but so far had found none, authorities said.
Knoxville FBI Special Agent in Charge Ed Reinhold told a late-night news conference that authorities had no leads linking the gunman to international terrorist organizations.
“There is no indication at this point that anyone else was involved,” he said late Thursday.

He was such a nice hardworking boy that lived by the golden rule and wouldn’t harm a flea. He must have had some reason to do what he did? Maybe he didn’t like the Confederate Flag, maybe he hated homophobes, maybe he didn’t like Christians or Jews? Something set him off. Just wasn’t like him to go off and murder 4 unarmed and unsuspecting Marines like some yellow bellied chicken shooting an guy in the back. Maybe all those girls in Allah’s paradise was just too tempting. Had to be some reason!
