CNN Blasts CBS News’s Major Garrett for Asking Obama Tough Question
Breitbart ^ | July 15, 2015 | By John Nolte

Posted on 07/15/2015 9:42:27 PM PDT by Brad from Tennessee

During Wednesday’s national press conference about his Iran deal, President Obama played the media like a fiddle. It was a situation where the media was so compliant the questioners were hand-picked by the White House beforehand, the president filibustered throughout, and Obama ended the event by asking himself the questions he wanted to answer.

Only Major Garrett of CBS News asked a truly tough question, a question that was obviously framed in a way to cut through the president’s rigorously-rehearsed talking points. For daring to question the Lightbringer in the same way the media questioned President George W. Bush for 8 years, CNN went hard after Garrett over two news hours (thus far).

Before Don Lemon was brought on later to beclown himself, CNN’s congressional correspondent, Dana Bash, attacked Garrett as “disrespectful.”

BASH: I’ve been a White House reporter, you’ve been a White House report… You know what it’s like to stand up and ask the president a question — and you do want to be tough. But there’s a fine line, especially standing in the East Room — a fine line between asking a tough question and maybe crossing that line a little bit, and maybe being disrespectful. So I think that that happened there.

But that wasn’t enough. In the following hour, CNN hauled out Don Lemon and Gloria Borger to attack Garrett. . .

No one noticed how Obama smirks as Garrett asks his question.

Yup, and CNN is really out on a limb here.

Even Dana Milbank supported Garrett and slammed the Obama Administration for being weak. Then again the WaPo Tehran bureau chief is one of the hostages.

Most people consider Major Garrett's question to be a loaded question because the Senate dealt with the issue of the 4 prisoners.

S615, aka Corker's bill, passed the senate on a vote of 98 to 1, after which it was passed by the House, after which Obama signed it.

While in the Senate, S615 was intensely debated, and many, many amendments, covering many subjects, to the bill were considered.

On the subject of the 4 prisoners, there were 6 amendments filed, but none of these amendments were introduced. They were:

Amendments 1138 and 1139 filed by Sen Risch
Amendment 1134 filed by Rubio and Kirk
Amendment 1153 filed by Blunt.
Amendments 1161 and 1176 were filed by Isakson to establish a compensation fund for the families of the 4 prisoners.

Because both the Senate and the House(both controlled by the GOP) refused to include the fate of the prisoners in the legislation, it is implied that the GOP controlled Congress knew that it had to be a separate issue, and if it was included in the negotiations it would kill the deal.

So if Republican Garret wants to ask the question, he needs to ask the republicans in the House and Senate because they agreed with Obama and the P5 plus 1.

In case you are interested, below is a link to a blog where all the amendments to S615 are discussed.

No more proof is needed that the Iran deal is BAD if the press is even questioning it..

How said is it that one can say that?

It was posted here on FR about five months ago (February time frame), but I lost the link: CNN was accepting Federal money via grants in exchange for content control - burying certain stories, giving other stories prime-time coervage, etc.

——CNN receives tax dollars for news content——

ditto Comcast/NBC

actually the $$ are not tax $$ because they have been laundered through at least one entity before paid to CNN/Comcast. The one or three step removal hides the direct tax payer connection

A similar procedure pys Al Sharpton and Chelsea Clinton. I would guess that Monica is also being taken care of in this manner

The next administration must establish a special prison on say Entiwetok or such for the thousands to be arrested and imprisoned for these crimes.

There must be no mercy

Backroom of CNN:
Editor #1:I can’t believe Major asked that question. I mean, the president is black. You know THOSE PEOPLE aren’t able to think that quickly.
Editor #2: Oh I know. Our maid is like one of the family. I know exactly how black people are. I sometimes speak to her in jive.
Editor #1: Really? You speak jive?! I listen to Soul Music sometimes. When the family is gone, of course. (whispers)I have a daughter.

CNN is jealous because for once CBS asked real questions they know deep down inside is correct.

It’s just more proof how CNN has fallen, and they are nothing but lap dogs.

Some how I don’t recall CNN attacking the media asking Bush tough question?

Just more evidence that the MSM is so biased it can no longer be trusted for information. There have been thousands of examples but this one is blatant.

Obama was given the question in advance.

Which is why, after bitching out Garrett, he had a smooth (if specious) response ready.

The tragedy here is not so much the sneaky mechanisms for handing CNN and others government money. The tragedy is that Americans aren’t getting accurate reporting of what’s going on.

Copule that with the fact that the herbivores simply don’t care.

As long as their bread and circuses are coming, they’ll stay that way.

For years the Media gleefully hounded President Reagan “When are you going to do something about the Hostages?” that were being held in Lebanon by the Islamic Jihad.
